"You're hungry, Shipman," Jackie observes out of nowhere, eyeing Shauna up and down, her gaze latching onto her friend's thinning waist for a moment too long. Their conversation had become stilted, and whenever that happened, Jackie would begin to list observations, or just talk until they fell into rhythm with each other once more.

"Well, it's not like there's much out here," Shauna huffs back, "The bear's almost gone, even though we've been rationing.”

Jackie tilts her head in the same innocent, yet cunning, way she did whenever she thought she could see through you. She had always been a people person, even if she was stubborn and weirdly awkward. With a glint in her eyes, she continues simply, "I think you're hungry in more ways than one."
