Caitlyn and vi both manage to do masculinity and femininity in such a uniquely lesbian way that im still in shock they were in such a huge piece of media. Like its SO rare to see masculine women that not only arent caricatures but are also still intensely feminine at the same time and vise versa. Hi! I'm the same anon that sent you the last message. I have the same disappointments as you basically. I didn't expect Caitlyn to hit V, for me it was already too much, I would have preferred that Caitlyn said the worst things to Vi, like real shit rather than getting physical with her. I hated the relationship she had with Maddie, that's when I gave up, it was the point of no return for me, I put a stop to that directly normally. Like zero tolerance or excuses. And after that since I didn't give a damn anymore it became a succession of "I don't understand but whatever", for example I don't understand why Vi says she doesn't give a damn about Caitlyn's relationship, normally when you love someone, when you really love them, you ask for a minimum of explanations? I don't know but I wouldn't have just said I don't give a fuck, it seems like Vi just wanted to fuck and nothing else lol. I was expecting a sex scene by the way but certainly not in a prison cell. When it happened I didn't give a fuck so much that I burst out laughing, I said to myself "even that they had to screw up". I think that being a good writer includes that sometimes in your career you will be offered ideas that will shock you, the point is that if it shocks you then it's better not to go there rather than want to explore it. I also didn't understand why Vi and Caitlyn were separated during the final battle? Here it's the same when you love someone normally you want to protect them, fight with them and protect each other? Besides, Vi was completely useless at the end, she has no use during the battle anymore, her sister (if she is alive) just left without allowing Vi to say goodbye either,…I mean what was the point of Vi's character this season? The whole last arc was rushed, Vi and Jinx had almost an entire arc about their reconciliation but for Vi and Caitlyn everything was swept under the rug, they only had a few minutes in the whole final arc. At this point it's just a joke.

Yeah, a lot of what you're describing here resonates with me. After season one, I learned to lower my expectations because it was just too phenomenal. I knew s2 wouldn't compare, but I never thought it would be this bad. It was such a mess, genuinely, to the point where I haven't felt the need to watch it again.

Maddie and Caitlyn didn't make sense to me and it was upsetting to watch. Like did Caitlyn really need a rebound as she was grieving her mother after rejecting Vi in such a cruel physical way? You're right - Vi saying she doesn't care about Caitlyn being involved with someone else in the heat of the moment doesn't translate to love. It just feels like she's eager to have sex and disregard her own feelings in the process. It's like Vi, my shayla, you deserved better.

I don't know. The show ended months ago and I don't know where I am with it now. I'm at peace with the way things wrapped up, I suppose. I still think it's an incredible show and they made CaitVi the endgame, thankfully, but I still haven't digested some of the narrative choices.

The vibe of the entire season was just totally off. It's like they didn't want to risk Netflix pulling the plug on a third season, but it should have had one. Maybe they were also ready to move on from the project, but the conglomeration of all the elements of season two made it feel incredibly rushed. Sevika had no part of it at all. It was just so confusing and cringy to me mostly because of the whole Vander coming back as a beast. It could have been done a lot better. In fact, I've read fics more compelling that whatever this was.

Man. I wish I only had positive things to say, but the biggest takeaway for me is the fact that it's over and they can't screw it up anymore.
