So my cat Maya Miette had to have surgery today to remove a bunch of interconnected cysts from her left shoulder. It's an expensive procedure, but we have Care Credit and (we thought) enough money between the 3 of us to cover it and still be able to get through the rest of the month. Then, midway through the operation, they found another mass that they'd missed before, which put the total at $1364 instead of $964, which is going to put all three of us in the red. Not removing it was NOT an option, and anyway she's worth every last penny and more, but still, if anyone feels like they can shoot a few bucks my way, my PayPal account is maemeans709@gmail.com. I’ve talked about how, as a goy, speaking up against the appalling onslaught of antisemitism that permeates every facet of society now often feels like yelling into an abyss, because most people either just don’t care or are actively participating in it.

And then it hit me like a brick to the face. People who speak up in support of Jews, Israelis, or for the wellbeing of the hostages often get accused by the extremist “antizionists” as “manufacturing consent for genocide.”

And that is EXACTLY what they are doing. The sheer level of dehumanisation and demonisation of Jewish communities, of Israelis, has reached a point where if a large scale horror like the Holocaust were to happen again, a terrifying amount of people would shrug their shoulders, turn away, and say “it’s just Zionists, they deserve it anyway.”
