i've been saying the past couple of weeks that i am glad im not dating. the dating pool is filled with piss and dog bath water and i do not envy those that have to wade through that.
on another note, i think that learning to quell your fire and learning how to recognize things that have a high opportunity cost and aren't worth is extremly vital. i hope everyone can have that available to them.
The older you get, the more you choose calmness over drama and distance over disrespect. You prioritize your peace, mental health, and happiness - over everything.

d'angelo wallace
i love d'angelo wallace and have been watching his videos for a few years. he just said he was a tumblr kid and so now i'm inspired to see what it's really about :)
i rlly love his usually nuanced takes on whatever he feels like talking about that day and im really happy that he came back to youtube. i am used to watching his longer fleshed out video essays, but i really love his new form of content that he's been doing recently as an esteemed educator in his very accredited very real university with his degree that he definitely does have.

unconditional love is bullshit. it's not an inherent right. protect your self and your heart.

Unconditional love isn't a free pass to hurt me.

No one will ever fully be able to understand the internal battles you had to endure just to heal, just to grow, just to make it here today. Be proud of the way you fought to save yourself. Be proud of the way you survived.

dread
i have anxiety. i have never recalled a time where i didn't have it and it's now becoming almost comfortable to worry because if i worry about things then i feel more in control of my life. but then i worry about my health because stress kills. i live my life in an endless cycle of existential and nonexistential dread.
