So, update: I’m noticing that there’s a lot of posts going missing through the tags and I’ve got a pet theory that Tumblr is trying to optimize the posting system by only showing the most recent and / or popular posts within certain tags. This isn’t bad for big roleplaying groups, but it is pretty terrible for individual rpers that have smaller promos and less of a following. It also only shows the most recent starter[s] that’s been tagged for you in a lot of cases, and if someone’s tried to start a thread you might not be able to realize it because it just won’t appear. At all. Particularly if you’ve interacted before, as the other posts they wrote for you entirely disappear in most instances. This is a huge problem, particularly if you’re forgetful like me and don’t have a post tracker.

It’s also causing some other issues with finding aesthetic things, posts on blogs, etc. But the major issue is starters and attempts at starters. Unless you @ someone, message them, and make sure they know there’s a big chance they’ll never actually see the post. At least, that’s my breakdown of it thusfar, from observation and trying to troll through various rp-related tags. I’ll probably add a little blurb about this to my rules page here soon, just so that I don’t miss anything.
