wei wuxian — a prodigy of his homeclan, wei wuxian sacrificed himself and his powers to save his brother after their home was attacked and left in ruin. he willingly let himself be possessed by a shade demon after a confrontation had him thrown into a severely shade infested burial site and he learned to harness the shade, bending it to his will. he has since become an extraordinarily powerful dragon, but that does not erase the effects the shade has on his body and mind. but, at the very least, he has his husband to help him.

lan wangji — one of the most skilled shade hunters and exorcists of his generation, lan wangji has a reputation for “being where the chaos is” and assisting the common folk for no monetary gain. he grew up in a strict clan and followed its thousands of rules and regulations his whole life, but was quick to throw them aside to aid his shade-infected husband when it seemed like the whole world stood against him. he is intent on never abandoning wei wuxian and remains steadfast at his side.

my take on nature vs plague is that yes, they are two sides of the same coin..basically the same concept just looking at it from slightly different angles. nature dragons are however adamant that they are different to plague dragons and see them as the ‘enemy’, whereas plague dragons are just like haha k bro w/e

How do anatomy

Fun exercise. Would it make sense for the rib bones to tuck in underneath the keel? Could the keel be several pieces connected by cartilage to offer great flexibility for those front limbs? I’d image the front limbs would be comparatively weaker than the hind limbs due to the wing pectorals taking up the bulk of the space… perhaps dragons use front limbs for dexterity and precision motions rather than power?

Hope my ramblings make sense.
