imagine you defect in the most dramatic fashion. you get injured in the pre season. returns to score the most cunty goal. shades of Mario. you get to the final. lose the cup to one of your idols. but you rally and along with your captain you take the boys to the final. you win.

you suffer injuries and watch your captain battle with concussion. you rot together. you stop mutinies. you win another two cups. youre the mvp.

you give everything to the team who is your family. you play through injury and botched surgeries. you accept the targeted media hate. you keep your head down and fight and you have to endure rumor on rumor.

youre left off the fucking 100 list.

through it all you never once waver. this is your team. sid is your captain.

they try to fuck you over and the face of the nhl who’s allergic to picking sides literally throws around his magnificent ass and hauls you onto a plane and begs you to come back.

you do.

20 years of service and loyalty and more success than most players can even dream of.

and the thanks you get is the most fucking undignified leaks rather than let you announce your own plans.
