Throwback Thursday to one year ago when this absolute basket-ball-testicled champion burned a Bible at his local pastor's book burning event in rural Tennessee.

[Reddit post by u/UnfallenAdventure in r/Atheism titled "Atheists of the world- I've got a question"]
Hi! I'm in an apologetics class, but I'm a Christian and so is the entire class including the teachers.
I want some knowledge about Atheists from somebody who isn't a Christian and never actually had a conversation with one. I'm incredibly interested in why you believe (or really, don't believe) what you do. What exactly does Atheism mean to you?
Just in general, why are you an Atheist? I'm an incredibly sheltered teenager, and I'm almost 18- I'd like to figure out why I believe what I do by understanding what others think first.
Thank you!

Being atheist isn't a belief. We don't have a claim that we're making. We're called atheists because we reject the claim that a god exists.
Atheism can usually be broken into two sections, hard atheists and soft atheists. Soft Atheism is the most secure logical conclusion, and it stops at the above. No compelling evidence of gods exist, and therefore they remain unconvinced. Soft Atheist would say that, should compelling evidence of a god be presented, they would change their beliefs to match the evidence. It's the "neutral" stance on the god claim. Hard Atheism essentially takes the opposing side of the god claim, stating that there is definitely no god. Hard Atheism, in actuality, has *as much* proof for its stance as Christianity -- lots of circumstantial evidence but nothing solid. Unlike Christianity, though, Hard Atheism is categorically impossible to prove, as you cannot prove a negative. Still, it is a stance many people hold.
I, personally, flipflop between being a hard or soft atheist. I'm an Antitheist. God does not exist, and I am mostly certain of that, but I reserve (for however impossible it seems to be), that compelling evidence would convince me of the god claim. If, by some impossibility, god undeniably showed themselves, my stance as an Antitheist is not only should we not worship it, but we should strive to destroy and conquer that god, even if that is an exercise in futility. The god of this creation is a monster who, by all observation, invented an infinite universe that is full of infinite suffering and infinite evil on purpose, when it had the option to create this same world but without suffering or evil (see the Epicurean Paradox). Being a human means having a choice, and the only just conclusion to such a monster is to stand as its adversary. This stance has aligned me with The Satanic Temple.

There exists no video game that isn't markedly improved by proximity chat.
Hate to praise Call of Duty for anything but the new proximity voice chat that lets you talk to your opponents when they’re nearby is an absolute game changer. Every time I enter a building and hear a team chatting with each other somewhere inside I yell “hey coward why don’t you get out here and kiss me on the fucking lips”
