I just saw a bunch of comments under an edit on Instagram shitting on Lin Quishi for reacting the way he did after Ruan Nanzhu came back after pulling his little stunt in *that* door. And I am so confused because all things concerned Lin Quishi's annoyance with Ruan Nanzhu was pretty tame, if it were me in his place, I probably would've swung.

What is it with people's lack of empathy toward main characters?

idk why the lack of empathy, but i do know that both @sunriseverse and i did put ruan nanzhu through it after his cute little "surprise i'm not really dead!" maneuver. sunny's fic is hot like burning and nanzhu is suitably punished (i don't think it's specifically about that incident but in my mind it is—I love when qiushi snaps DON'T FUCKING "LINLIN" ME) whereas mine is more novel-centric and Yearning.
