#macabre #horror  Daikichi Amano 

Born in Tokio in 1973, studies art in USA before to come back in Japan. Began to show art work in Tokio, in 2007. Amano’s photographs are drawn from his own private fantasies. Fantasies that are animistic, animalistic and atavistic in nature, but all-too-human in execution, evoking primal fears and desires. In Amano’s world, the human body is worshipped and admired for its awesome beauty but also deformed and fused with nature – with wood, blood, bones, scales and feathers – transforming it into an erotic grotesque. But these frightful dioramas are also cut through with the blackest humour.

Amano se describe a si mismo como “La moderna reencarnación de Katsushika Hokusai“. sus fotografías son extraídas de sus propias fantasías privadas, unas fantasías que si bien en un principio nos pueden resultar repelentes y excesivas, en realidad no  son sino la evocación de los temores y deseos primigenios del hombre. En las imágenes de Amano, el cuerpo humano no es sólo venerado y admirado por su impresionante belleza, sino también en su existencia deformada y fusionada con la naturaleza – con la madera, la sangre, los huesos, las escamas y las plumas – en una metamorfosis que híbrida lo erótico con lo grotesco.
