Even though it’s been a month since you passed, I can’t shake the habit of looking up toward the clouds.

It was the kind of bright and sunny day where everything aligned perfectly—

a gentle breeze, the warm kiss of sunlight, and the scent of spring.

74 degrees, soft winds rustling apple blossoms loose from their branches.

Honey had spent the day out with Gideon.

Something they planned a month ago. Promised a month ago.

To spend Caleb’s three-month death anniversary together—

so Honey wouldn’t have to face it alone.

“I’ll get us some drinks. Don’t go anywhere.”

She nodded from a bench under the trees, watching petals swirl at her feet.

Once Gideon disappeared across the street, her smile dropped.

The empty feeling crept back in like a slow tide,

threatening to take shape as tears.

She bit her bottom lip to fight it.

Her fingers curled tightly into the fabric of her skirt,

silk doing nothing to protect her skin from the sting of her own nails.

When Gideon returned with two cans of chilled milk tea,

he froze the moment he saw her tear-streaked cheeks.

“H-Honey…”

He dropped to his knees without hesitation.

The thud of it snapped her out of the spiral.

Her hands shot out to him—instinctively. Uselessly.

He tossed the drinks aside and gathered her hands into his.

Cool from the cans, but still warm with care.

“What happened? Are you okay?! Did something happen?”

His voice trembled, full of panic,

but his hands never wavered—steady and soft.

“No! Really, it’s nothing. I just remembered something, and…”

She wanted to run. Hide. It was too much.

“I’m sorry. Thanks for today. I’m just gonna g—”

“Wait. Please… Honey.”

He caught her wrist. Too tightly.

She flinched.

His grip loosened instantly.

“Damn it. I’m sorry…”

He sighed. Slumped. Utterly broken.

“I know I’m a poor substitute for Caleb.

Not that I’m trying to take his place, I swear.

I just… I wanted to do right by him.

He used to ask me—

‘If anything happens to me, take care of her, okay?’

Those were his words.”

Honey approached slowly.

Gideon still knelt on the pavement, head bowed.

Eyes shut. Shoulders trembling.

She reached for him.

Fingertips brushing against his jaw,

rising to his chin.

When his eyes opened and met hers,

it hit them both—how torn they really were.

How deeply Caleb’s absence wrecked them.

How lost they still felt.

“You don’t have to explain yourself to me, Gideon,” she whispered.

“I miss him too.”

After having teased Caleb all day he finally snapped. His usual, playful demeanor- gone. Replaced with something darker and more sinister. “Is that why you’ve been tempting me all day?” He backed you up against the wall of his bedroom holding onto your waist with a vice grip. Barely able to keep his breathing in check. His towering form lowing ever so slightly, his face inches away from yours. “I know what you’re doing.” You flinch slightly at the sudden thud right by your ear. Caleb is hanging by threads trying not to give into his primal instincts. He wanted to fuck you right here. Until you were in tears begging for him to release you from the pleasure he was about to bestow upon you. You fixed your eyes on Caleb’s face. As every expression.. Every muscle tensed right in front of you. It was glorious.

“You know what I’m doing?” You say feign innocence. Eyes oozing ecstasy.. It drove him over the edge but he needed to maintain control. For your sake.

“Tell me.” His lips now brushing against yours. His jaw clenching as his entire demeanor began to crumble in front of your very eyes. “Tell me what you want me to do to you.” Caleb’s voice low and deadly serious in his command. My lips parted slightly, breath uneven. You could feel your heart beating so fast it was suffocating. Eyelids fluttering, as if they contemplated whether to witness just how badly Caleb was going to destroy you. Conquer you. Swallow you up until there was nothing left of you.

“Fuck…M-me…” you managed to whimper out. Barely audible with all the shaking your body was doing. Like a fawn backed into a corner by a starving lone wolf. “What?” Caleb licked his bottom lip in an attempt to keep his composure. “I can’t hear you. Tell me. What. You. Want.” Caleb was almost done for. He couldn’t keep this up anymore. He could feel the way you fidgeted under him. Thighs pressed together so tightly, you almost felt numb. The radiating warmth from your lower abdomen wouldn’t stop getting hotter. The oversized shirt you wore exposed you from the waist down. You had nothing stopping the slick from dripping down your thighs.

Without breaking eye contact, he slipped his left leg in between your thighs forcing you to open. You let out another whimper. Your wetness now completely exposed. “I want to kiss you so badly. But I have to take care of something else first.” He pulled away, making you crave his kiss. His hands traveled down with him to the hem of the shirt you were wearing. Your fingers curled into your hand, nails digging into your palms as he placed a lingering kiss on your lower abdomen. “What a messy girl you are. His tongue swirling around… gently… meticulously. With every flick, your body twitches with pleasure. “C-caleb~ Caleb” You call out to him with breathless moans when suddenly, he pulls back. Hesitant, you look down at him through misty eyes only to see him staring back at you. His eyes were consumed by lust and desire. He licked the corner of his lips before pulling them into the most sinful smirk you had ever seen. “Get on your knees. I’m not done with you yet.”
