The inhabitants of the S.S. Tirion were unanimously shocked when their king's heir--and their space station's lead engineer--Prince Curufinwë, starting courting a simple mechanic by the name of Nerdanel. After all, one would assume that a prince, heir to the Noldor, would choose someone of higher status, and at least of better looks. But it seemed that the prince was determined to court the mechanic, and while even she herself was a bit surprised by his courtship, no one could deny, at least of those who knew the couple, that the two lovebirds were somehow destined for each other.

This is Juba II, king of Mauretania though he was from Numidia. After his father was defeated by Julius Caesar, he moved to Rome and immersed himself so thoroughly in his studies that he wrote several bestselling travel books, as well as some historical works. He’s credited with discovering and naming the Canary Islands. As Octavian’s right-hand man and BFF, Juba was allowed to rule Mauretania with another prisoner of war, Cleopatra Selene, daughter of Cleopatra, in what is believed to be a true love match. Notable for his prolific writing, patronage of the arts, and excellent ruling of Mauretania, Juba was a smart man with a great head of hair and a fantastic profile.

“The mouth, with its opening joining the red of the lips to the flesh of the face, seemed to be real flesh rather than paint. Anyone who looked very attentively at the hollow of her throat would see her pulse beating: to tell the truth, it can be said that portrait was painted in a way that would cause every brave artist to tremble and fear, whoever he might be.”
-Giogrio Vasari, Lives of the Artists (1550)
