The Arson case pt. 7
( alright , here is the last part , I hope you enjoy it)
But that’s too easy… That’s what Judy wants you to think happened.
Judy detested two people from her police department Chief Police Ron Oppenheimer and Jason Baldwin. Ron made working at the police station a stressful and miserable experience for everyone. People always had to walk on eggshells around him.
Jason on the other hand was a pervert who sexually harassed his female co-workers, making unwanted comments at any chance he got. He never got disciplined for his behavior because he was Chief Ron’s favorite.
She made a plan to get rid of these two corrupt and arrogant men.
First, she planted seeds of doubt in everyone's mind about the chief’s ability to do his job, even Jason was not spared.
Second, she contacts Jason through an untraceable number she texted him things she texted him things that stroked his ego. Judy knew Jason loved three things more than anything One. HimselfTwo. PowerThree. Getting laid. She knew he wanted to be the chief of police and even helped him get the right blackmail on the right people and even helped edit the video that made Ron look like the arsonist.
Third, she played the role as the friendly and nieve co-worker. She gained his trust by giving him what he wanted, even if it was degrading it served to further her goal. Playing the waiting game was truly the hardest part of this whole plan, but it was the most important piece of this whole charade.
Finally, was to set the trap with her as the bait. She lured him to the barn with the promise of sex and alcohol. The dum-dum didn’t know he was being recorded. As for the police cars? She contacted them before Jason even got to the barn. After she recorded his confession, she spilled the whole truth to him just as I’m doing now. That’s why he pointed the gun at my head because he knew that he would lose his power just as quickly as he gained it.
I was pretending to be scared out of my mind. I guess those acting lessons paid off. You can guess what happened next Jason was locked away and Rob never got his old position back due to his damaged reputation.
The tabloids spread like wildfire, I gained fame and notoriety across the nation. I got interviews and my skills were sought far and wide. The best part? Nobody knew. I write down the last few lines in my diary.
‘Everyone knows my name and I shall tell you in full. My name is Judy Wilkerson and this is the story of how I got away with being an arsonist.’
( Weren't expecting that one now were you?this is the end I guess I had fun making this. If you want more stories , just hit me up.)

The Arson case pt. 6
We are so close to the end of this short story. I hope you found it somewhat entertaining. In a website filled with predictable plots.
She didn't lose a wink of sleep that night falling into a slumber she needed. The next day, she skips work and drives 5 miles from town to a remote location on the outskirts. Judy only took two things with her, a handgun with full rounds and a pen that secretly records conversations. She is already at the place where she will confront him and call him.
“Hello?”
“Hey Jay how are you?” She does her best to keep herself calm and collected and the conversation casual.
“I’m doing good, just chillin' what about you?” His tone is light and easygoing.
“Jay, could I ask you a huge favor?”
“Yeah, what’s up?”
on the other line is the sound of Jason readjusting his position on the couch. She has his attention, good she can’t screw this up.
“Can you meet me at this old barn on the outskirts of town?”
“Yeah, sure,"
“Alright then see you later,” Judy said.
“Bye, Judy.”
“Bye.” He hangs up the phone.
She exits the car and leans against the door of the old wooded doors of the barn. Her hands trembled with anticipation as she waited for Jason to arrive. After half an hour of waiting a familiar BMW pulls up its tires crunching the pebbles underneath. Jason exits the sudan wearing casual attire instead of his police uniform.
“I got your call Judy what’s up?” She clicks her pen looking at him with a serious demeanor.
“Is something wrong Judy?”
After a long pause, she speaks with a tone of conviction. “ I called you for a reason Jason, I know that you’re the arsonist.”At first, he’s shocked but then laughs as if Judy said something hilarious.
“Me the arsonist? Judy, you got to be kidding you know I would never-”
“Cut the crap, Jason, I know it was you who distorted the tapes, framed Rob, and tried to distract me from my investigation. I cuaght you on tape if you wanted to know.” She narrowed her eyes at him. Instead of getting defensive or trying to deny it, Jason simply smirks and claps his hands in a slow deliberate motion.
“Brovo Judy you know I got to admit you are sometimes too smart for your good.” His hands are slow to reach for his gun as if trying to distract Judy with his words. Both He and her pull out their handguns simultaneously.
“You want to know why I did it Judy it’s because I wanted power and that fatso for a police chief gone and besides It was doing everyone a favor. If I recall from our conversation at the bar you told me that you hated him am I wrong?”
“Just because he was a shitty boss doesn't mean he deserved to be locked up in jail.” She says in a calm tone.
“I don’t care as long as I have power, I am more than happy to ruin a reputation or two to keep it, I wonder Judy how I’ll ruin yours.” He steps closer to Judy the gun shaking in her hand.
“Jason don’t make me do this or I’ll have to-”
“Do what kill me?” he kicked a metal bucket that was in his way that missed her head.
“You’re shaking which indicates you are in shock and not able to think properly.” The next moment he grabs her gun and tosses it to the ground. He then trips her to the ground the barrel of his gun stares her down.
“Goodbye Judy…” Well, this is it, however, there is one thing Jason didn’t account for. The flashes of red and blue and the sounds of sirens come ever closer.
“Fuck!”
Jason quickly takes off in a sprint with policemen pursuing him. It isn’t long after Jason gets apprehended by police. He is sent to prison for his crimes, and the news of his arrest spread across the nation. Judy gets promoted to head of investigators after solving the arson case, Ron gets out of Jail and a new chief of police gets hired. Everything resolves and has a happy ending.
( it's not over yet my dear readers. There's only one more part to this saga.I promise)

The Arson case pt. 5
Now my friends we are getting to the good part. Enjoy 😉
She hails a cab and gets inside. Once she arrives at the cemetery, she wastes no time in walking to the scene of the crime. The air brings a chill and the brown leaves crunch underneath her feet. She notes the different graves and the years people passed away.
As she gets closer to the scene of the crime, she notes the yellow tape surrounding the charred cabin. She ducks underneath the barrier and begins to look around. She notices a muddy footprint that has a foot size of 9 ½ and with diamond-pressed soles. She takes a picture and finds more subtle pieces of evidence. A few unfired police standard bullet rounds, a disposed of partially melted gasoline can, etc. All of which she takes pictures of.
The police force didn’t do a good job investigating the crime scene. Next, she goes to the groundskeeper and asks for footage from all the cameras. Then, she goes to a few nearby businesses behind the graveyard. After she finishes what she needs to do she goes home. She opens up her laptop, pours herself a cup of black coffee, prepares her pens and notes, and gets to work.
She clicks on the file that shows the graveyard parking lot. Her fingers click to manipulate the mouse to click on the speed-up button. Nothing seems amiss just some random cars parked, a slow-moving BMW, the rustling of the trees from the wind-.
She rewinds the footage and refocuses her attention on the black BMW. It parks in the parking lot and a hooded figure steps out of the driver’s seat. She can’t make out any facial features, but judging based on their height, stature, and what they are wearing, this person is male and probably comes from a working-class background.
She clicks on another camera to see the same person holding a gasoline canister and a box of matches in his hands. She clicks back to the original camera before he gets into the graveyard.
“How the hell did you get in?” Rewinding the footage she noticed something she hadn’t before. There was a tiny silver key in the sucker’s hand.
“So a cop huh? now this is getting interesting.” Judy has a knowing grin on her face, her green eyes observing as the newbie as he goes into his car and takes out the gas canister and the box of matches. Then he goes to the cemetery's back gate. His attempts to unlock it are comical she can see him try and try and after a few tries he manages to get in.
Judy clicks onto another camera watching the man make his way to the cabin, but instead of seeing old fat Ron pouring the gasoline, it’s this hooded man. However, in his stupidity, he lights a match revealing the true culprit of the arson crime.
“Bingo.” She makes a gun motion with her hand points it at Jason Baldwin and fake fires an imaginary trigger.
The rest of the footage shows what you would expect in a typical arson case, a started fire, the culprit fleeing the crime, and authorities arriving at the scene.
(We are almost done i wonder if you know who the true culprit is)

The Arson case part. 4
so this is starting when chief Ron enters the room with Sharry. Hope you enjoy 😊
The conversation around Judy dies down as the secretary of the police chief takes her place at the podium prepared to speak. Jason stands right by her.
“Thank you all for coming here on such short notice as you know our chief police Ron was arrested last night for Arson.” Nobody speaks as she continued.
“As a police force, we are deeply grieved at the actions of someone we all thought we could trust, a man who was seen as reliable…”
Nobody says it but it’s clear she is just pulling flattery out of her ass. Nobody is listening nor does anybody care about Ron. Judy zones out deep in her thoughts until the secretary says.
“That’s why it’s my great honor to promote Jason Baldwin to the position of our new chief of police.” Some people clap, others don't, but it’s half-hearted from what Judy notes. Jason takes the stand.
“Thanks for that lovely speech Sharry, It’s my honor to be your new chief of police. I vow to protect and serve this city with everything in my power. I promise to do better than my predecessor before me….”
Judy is too distracted in her thoughts. This whole situation seems fishy. She finds an excuse to leave the room early. She’s looking through the footage again, again, and again. However, it shows the same thing: Chief Ron pouring gasoline around the cabin, lighting a match, and running from the scene.
“No, this is not right. Someone must have altered the footage.” Judy gets up from the chair and adjusts her satchel.
“I need to get to the bottom of this.” She saves the files on her phone and leaves the records room. Judy is a woman on a mission determined to uncover the truth. Did Ron Oppenheimer commit arson? She doubts it. She walks through the hallways past her colleague, not even acknowledging anyone.
“Hey Judy Chief Baldwin wants a moment of your time-”
“Not now, Sharry. You can tell him I’m swamped.” She feels the pull of her coat, indicating that someone has grabbed it.
“Oh no you don’t this is a direct order from the Chief himself.” Judy grits her teeth trying to stay calm without losing her shit on the secretary. However the woman is just doing her job, but doing her job prevents Judy from doing hers.
“Don’t grab my coat.” She pushes past the secretary and walks herself to Jason’s office. Even before she opened the door she could still smell remnants of cigarettes and alcohol, a smell she detests. When she opens the door, she finds Jason leaning back just relaxing.
“You called me in?”Jason takes his feet off the desk and gestures for her to take a seat.
“Yes, I did now Judy I understand you are busy and I appreciate you giving me a moment of your time.”
(I didn’t have a choice boss)
She balls her fists “Sure.”
“Thank you for your hand in solving the arson case and I think you are a valuable member of our task force. With all things considered I want to tell you that you are getting promoted to Head Of Investigators.”
Judy is cuaght off guard “Are you serious that it a big honor to bestow upon me, but with all due respect I’m not nearly as qualified as say, Bruce who has a 95% success rate with solving cases. I on the other hand, only have an 83% success rate. Why choose me over say someone as bright and talented as Bruce?”
Jason leans back in his chair with his hands acting as a pillow. He takes a moment before answering her. “Because I think you deserve it.”
“What?”
“You heard me. However, if you need time to think about it the offer will always be open.” He gives her a wink.
“Thanks, Chief Baldwin.” Standing up from her chair she proceeds to exit his office and out of the building.

The Arson case pt.3
The next day Judy heads into work but notices the tense atmosphere the moment she walks in. Everyone around her is quiet. Walking up to the secretary's desk she notices the secretary crying. “Is everything ok Sharry, what happened around here?”
Sharry was sorting through papers. She looked like she aged a decade overnight. Sharry shakes her head using the tissue she had in her hand to wipe the tears that keep coming. “It’s the chief he…”
“Is he hurt?”She shakes her head
“No, not that. He…he got arrested for arson last night.” More tears form in Sharry’s eyes.
“Oh man, I’m so sorry are you ok Sharry?” Judy asks the grief-stricken woman.
“I’ll be fine thank you, dear.” Sharry wipes her eyes and begins to go back to the task of sorting papers.
“If you need anyone to talk to I’ll be here ok.” Judy makes her way to the records room reaching in her coat for her key, but it’s not there much to her surprise.
“Where is it I swear to god I had had it in my pocket. She then checks her back pockets. It’s not in there.
“Looking for this?” Judy’s head shoots up at the sound of his voice. Jason twirls her keys in his gloved fingers.
“Yeah, I was how did you know?”
“Last night the keys fell out of your coat and I decided to hold onto them until I found you again.”
She narrows her eyes as he tosses her the keys. She doesn’t believe his story, but she doesn't say anything as she unlocks the records room. She walks over to the desk to sit down and opens up the computer.
“I’m going to review the footage one more time.” Jason then puts a hand on Judy’s shoulder and sits down.
“Alright let’s see.” Judy clicks on the file and goes to the time when the arson happened. The footage shows the cabin 25 feet away, but this time a fat guy comes into view.
“Wait a minute, I don’t remember seeing this at all.” As the video continues, the man pours the gasoline around the cabin and lights a match, his face is made clear in the light. The culprit of the crime is none other than Ron Oppenheimer, the chief policeman. The recording ends.
“I don’t get it I don’t remember seeing this at all.” But Jason simply smiled.
“Good job partner I think a new perspective is all you needed and the footage showed us all what we knew to be correct.”
He puts a hand on Judy’s shoulder. “You caught the bad guy and that’s all that matters.”
“But-”
His smile strains, “Judy I think you are over-thinking again, and maybe some fresh air will do you some good.”
He escorts her out of the room shutting it behiend himself.
“Run along now detective and relax.”Judy sits on a bench trying to clear her her head.
“Maybe Jason’s right maybe I’m just overthinking things.” Judy gets up from the bench to try to ignore the feeling in her gut. Later that day, everyone is called into the meeting room.
“Shawn you know what’s going on?” Sally asks.
“Probably something about the chief.” Judy hears the conversations around her. She’s not the only one who’s in the dark about what is going on.
“Hey, Dereck do you know where Jason is?”
“Don’t know,” Derrick replied before turning to converse with someone else. Then walks in Sharry and Jason.

The Arson case pt.2
This is continuing from pt.1
Both arrive at the Sake bar ready to unwind from a long day at work. Jason and Judy both art seated at a booth near the window, ordering drinks.“What did you do all day Mr. Officer? Ticket people?”
Jason shakes his head while scanning the menu, “Nah I was paroling the city, Nothing interesting came of it though.”
“At least it’s better than being stressed out all the time.”
“I bet if I had your job I would never be bored again.”
A young woman came to the table, “Good afternoon my name is Shelly and I’ll be your waiter tonight. What can I do for you two?” Jason clears his throat “Uh yes I’ll take lemon pepper wings with a bud-light." He points to a spot on the menu and the waiter starts writing down the order. Judy orders one club sandwich, a side of fries, and a fountain drink with three shots of whiskey. She soon converses with Jason again.
“Man that case just keeps getting to me, I just know there is more than meets the eye.” she twirls her pony in her fingers as she thinks.
“You mean the arson case?” Jason asks. “Look Judy there is no point stressing on it.”
“I know but-” Judy looks up to notice Jason’s hand on hers. “We're not at work so for this once just live a little.”
Two hot plates are set right in front of them, along with their choice of drinks.
“Enjoy your meal.” After the waiter leaves the two dig into their mea,l for once forgetting the stress of the day. After eating, they walk together back to Jason’s black BMW. “You know how to spoil me, Jason, That was nice.”
“My pleasure Judy anytime.” She nods. “Judy I have a question. If you got up every day, bust your ass working in a position you loved, but you never got recognized for the work you did how would you feel?”
Judy contemplates his question her thoughts linger a moment in her mind. “I would probably feel upset and sad,” Judy responded her green eyes on his face. “Why do you ask?"
Jason’s demeanor changed and he became more quiet. “Well, Chief Ron is a fucking money hog I swear to god every time I look at him…I can’t stand him, always barking orders at everyone like they are there to serve his needs and comfort. The funny thing is that He’s too doughnut-stuffed to get off his ass and do his job properly.”
She nods agreeing with his sentiment. “I agree Ron is a miserable, insecure fat ass who makes everyone’s life miserable.” He opens up the door for Judy and she climbs inside, the seats cushioning her. He shuts the door and climes in the driver's seat.
The drive is a comfortable silence when Jason pulls up to her driveway he parks the car and walks her to the door. “Have a good night Judy it was nice to hang with you tonight.”
“Thanks, Jason you too.” Judy is about to go inside when…
“Wait Judy, You forgot your coat.” Jason walks up to the lights having the jacket stuffed in his armpit.
“Thank you I can’t believe I almost forgot that.” She takes the coat and waves goodbye to her friend.

The arson case
Fingers glide across the computer keyboard, words appear on the computer screen that Judy is typing on. She is looking into an arson case that recently happened at the old cemetery. However, the criminal did not leave a lead for her to follow. “The criminal is too good.” She muttered as she clicked another file that contained the recordings of the nighttime incident. She watched the footage, her eyes like a hawk watching for anything that could have been missed. At 12:45 the camera from across the cemetery showed the calm of the night, no hints that anything would go wrong. Judy clicks on another camera that’s near the entrance of the cemetery. The footage shows the steel metal gates, dry cracks on the winter ground, and yet no subtle signs of anything inconspicuous. “There must be something I’m missing, something…I’m not seeing.” She clicked onto another footage caught by a camera inside the cemetery, near where the old shack burned down. She clicks on her keyboard to speed up the footage to 1:15, the time of the arson. The old shack is in view, about 25 feet away, the once quiet black scene is replaced by smoke and orange flames consuming the old shack. As Judy keeps watching the footage, she finds nothing… no evidence of anything. A knock at the door rouses her from her intense train of thought. “Still working on the case Judy?” a masculine voice calls out from behind her. “Not now Jason, I feel like I’m so close to getting a lead.”“A lead huh?” Jason puts a cup of coffee on her desk in her peripheral view and takes a seat right by her side. “You should relax Judy, don’t overwork yourself.” Judy’s attention is turned away from the screen and to Jason. “You know I can’t-” He quirks his brow and gives her ‘the look.’ She can feel her resolve crumbling under his questioning brown-eyed gaze. She sighs in defeat knowing that he is not going to let this go“Ok fine.” She turns off the computer and smooths out her messy dark brown hair. “That’s the spirit, Judy.” Jason then picks up Judy’s satchel and puts it over her head to rest comfortably by her waist. “Thank you, Jason, and for the coffee as well, lord knows how I need it to stay alive.” She takes the styrofoam cup and puts it to her lips. The bitter coffee is like a soothing balm to her parched throat. “Ahh, this is the life.” Jason feels good that someone appreciates him. “Anything for you Judy.”
“What was that Jason?” She asks. He shakes his head with a smile, “Forget what I said. Anyway, let's go out tonight. Drinks are on me.” After she finishes re-adjusting her ponytail, she playfully smirks, “Sometimes you know me too well.”
