Expanding on this because I have more ideas.

This may just be because I'm English and only know what Autumn is like here but I believe weather manipulation should be one of there powers. Rain, wind and lighting! All perfect powers for the court and adds some variety to there powers.

Possibly Eris specific, but speaking with animals even if it's just his smokehounds. It could be a power that's found in all courts but it fits Eris quite well to be. (Hell, a telepathic link between Eris and the smokehounds, just any animal power)

Kinda continuing the passive ones, but just being able to survive more. Lasting longer with life-threatening industries, naturally higher pain tolerance and easier adaption to extreme environments(to me at least, because Autumn weather/temperatures change so fast here)

The Autumn courts only mentioned magic being fire is stupid. I can't think of many links between Autumn and fire other than the colour pallet and afew celebrations during the season (Guy Fawkes night bonfires and pagan wickerman are all I can think of but if there are others let me know)

Ones focused around the fact that Autumn is the harvest season could be quite interesting. An ability that makes harvest easier, perhaps similar to The Cut in Shadow and Bone but on a larger scale to make harvest easier. Or gravity manipulation for crops that grow in trees (eg apples)

Also, lot's of holidays in Autumn associated with death. Like the Pagan Samhain celebration (where the lines between the realms of the living and dead are said the be very thin) or the Mexican Day of the Dead. Speaking to the dead or summoning spirits are perfecting fitting powers for people of the Autumn Court to have.

Even what is naturally occurring in the Autumn season could be good powers. Plants kill off as much of themselves as they can, in hopes to survive the cold of winter, living without certain limbs, not needing as much blood to live or not being as affected by the cold would work for powers linked to the season (even if they are a little passive and more in the background). For a more active power, just causing decay works, a single touch being enough to causing a plant to shrivel up and die, more powerful users could decimate entire forests by touching a single tree.

In other words Autumn should have a lot more (and cooler) powers than just fire.

This could just be because I vist lot's of historical houses but we're not making the furniture anywhere near fancy enough. A few examples:

-in Belton House, Lincolnshire, there is a desk and matching cabinet made of dyed turtle skin, brass and ebony

- Again at Belton House, a cabinet made of lapis

- Wallington House, Northumberland, a room filled with nothing but curiosities (Mainly taxidermy of exotic birds and weird seashells)

-Bamburgh Castle, swords and sheilds hung above doorways and hunting trophies on display everywhere

- Once again Belton, but Eris would absolutely have iron casts of his smoke hounds

What if Eris looked like a mini copy of LoA when he was a child. A copy of how she looked like long before she met Beron. But as he grew older, he started to resemble his father more and more.

How soul crushing it was for him and his mother. His features sharpened; his eyes, once brimming with hope, happiness, and the boundless wonder of childhood, turned cold and calculating, devoid of emotion. His hair, once untamed like flames dancing in the wind—so much like his mother’s—faded in brilliance, subdued into obedient strands, brushed and styled into perfection. A perfection that bore no trace of the boy he once was.

Each time Eris looked into the mirror, he saw more of his father staring back at him. And he despised it. He despised how powerless he was to stop it. It was written in his blood—a cruel inheritance, a lifelong torment and reminder.

Even when Beron dies, Eris will still see him in his own mirror reflection. Always.

The complete lack of heraldry in Acotar annoys me. It might just be because I vist a lot of historical houses with lots of heraldry and my brother talks about it a lot but regardless, with so many noble houses and important people in them, heraldry should be around. The Coats of Arms were everywhere throughout European history and because Acotar is definitely Eurocentric (British in particular, if the shape of Prythian is any indication) than most if not all should have their own coats of arms. They were used to identify who was fighting for who on a battlefield, they were used to decorate everything, the symbols told you about the house it belonged to and the history of the family.

(+in terms of Eris it could bring extra angst because eldest sons are immediately given the right to use their father's Coat while all the younger ones have to earn the right to use it.)

Seems to me, Vander was a big guy who was good in the mine, seems to me Silco was his willowy boyfriend who probably acted as his personal podcast while Vander did the work of two men. Seems to me Silco smart talked them out of trouble and made up stories for miners in the bowels of the earth to stave away the terror

Mel suppresses her feelings for Viktor because he's a twink, and her mother likes twinks... so she can't allow herself to like the same things as her mother! So she's like "no, I'm gonna be the opposite of my mother. I only like beefcakes. I 👏 only 👏 like 👏 beefcakes." (Denial). So she gets with Jayce and everything's great until Viktor is added to their relationship. And Jayce can tell she likes him too...

My favorite meljayvik dynamic is Mel just loving her two scientist boyfriends but also going absolutely insane because they just don't have any sense of self preservation in their bones, scolding them and then Jayvik looks at her all sad puppy eyes/guilty cat eyes and she can't get mad anymore.

Also, Jayce can't sleep without this two, so he will just pull them to their bed and hug them until they have no other option besides sleep.
