Peter lets out a long sigh and looks down at his feet. He obviously likes you too but his past experience is holding him back. “Well…” he trails off.

he looks up and catches you eye, and suddenly He’s hit with the memories of Gwen from his universe on the day she died. He remembers the pain and heartbreak. Captain Stacy’s voice rings in his head ‘leave her out of it’ and yet Peter got her killed. He didn’t listen once and he doesn’t want to repeat his past.

He begins pulling you towards the back of the story when he hears your confession once again. This time he can’t let it slide, as much as he would like to.

Gwen from his universe died because they got together. Peter refuses to let that happen again. If that means breaking her heart to save her life… that’s what has to be done

He drags you to a deserted corner of the store. “Can we talk?”

Peter just got back from patrol and was lying on his bed, bleeding sluggishly from his side. He hears a knock on the door and groans inwardly as he quickly gets out of his suit and walks to the door. He opens it a crack. “It’s late. Who are you?”
