“You won’t believe what happened today Albus,” Scorpius approached Albus with a bright smile. It had been quite a while since they had a conversation and even if Scorpius had to lie about his day to get a chance to speak to him, he would. 

Albus has his face buried in a book as that familiar voice reached his ears, his body IMMEDIATELY tensing as panic quickly swept over him. His gaze slowly shifted upward, resting upon Scorpius as he neared him. “Oh, hey Scorpius...” He started, feigning interest. “What happened?”

“No, no one specific but I mean... a good chunk of the school kind of deserves a good punch in the face --- don’t you agree?”

“No, I was totally alone!” Teddy said defensively. “This time, anyway.” He added with a sheepish grin. “I swear, dude, the statue came out of nowhere. You weren’t there, okay? You don’t know!”

Albus raised both brows, a short chuckle following. “Sure, sure. Whatever you say, BUT does that mean someone has distracted you and caused you to walk into a statue before? W h o?”

Teddy scowled at Albus, his hair turning pink. “I walked into a statue, okay? Leave it alone.” 

“--- but H O W? That doesn’t exactly seem like an easy thing to do, unless something or SOMEONE was distracting you?”

A smile briefly appeared on Roxanne’s face, only to be quickly replaced by a wince at the sharp jolt of pain in her jaw. “You’ve got yourself a deal, Alby.” She affectionately teased him with the childhood nickname, motioning for her cousin to sit down across from her.

He couldn’t help but allow a groan to escape past his lips as the old nickname met his ears, giving another shake of his head he begrudgingly decided to let it go; taking a seat across from his cousin. “--- so how have you been otherwise?”

“Nah, I’m good but thanks for the offer! Perhaps you should offer it to someone else? I’m sure NO ONE would want to miss out on that opportunity.”

Roxanne glared at her cousin, letting out a small huff. “That’s exactly what happened, and I’ll thank you not to draw attention to it!” She’d tried to position her hair over the left side of her face to hide the nasty bruise she’d gotten during Quidditch practice, but obviously it hadn’t worked.

His face immediately fell, all amusement quickly draining away from it as the brunette responded. “Sorry Rox... I guess that wasn’t exactly the most tasteful thing to joke about,” a sigh passed his lips, followed by a shake of his head as he kicked his feet awkwardly against the ground. “Butterbeer to make up for it?”
