[TXT] Yes, well, your effort is commendable but if I were you I’d endeavor to be more aware of what you’re saying in the future.
[TXT] I do hate to be outright combative. Especially when in person, it has an unfortunate side effect of escalating the situation.
[TXT] Visual aids are a good point. I should bring the stain in question to their direct attention. I thank you for the idea.
[TXT] Yeah, probably a good plan
[TXT] I suppose. Although people seem to be perfectly happy to be rude behind anon features
[TXT] No problem, glad I could help!

Txt: We could if you like.
Txt: I mean not really. I’m old enough to be your mom yeah, but we can still be friends :)
[TXT] I mean, we don’t have to. I know its kind of a childish thing to do
Daisy looked at her phone, not sure if she shouldn’t have offered it at all. Ruby was much older than her. In fact most people in town were much older than her. It made making friends a little awkward. Everyone was very nice and everything, but friendly wasn’t quite the same as being friends.

[TXT] It’s certainly not a pleasant situation, but there’s no need to be crass.
[TXT] Possibly, but my luck with witches has not been the best, and dealing with whatever I may find at technical shop might not be worth the benefits.
[TXT] I am still certain I can complain to the cleaners in person.
[TXT] Sucks? Shit sorry
[TXT] Oh shoot that was worse. Sorry.
[TXT] Fair enough
[TXT] True. And then you could use like visual aides to make your point

txt: I’m not too busy to come by sometimes. I’ve got more staff down at the center now so I’m free a couple of days a week. I usually pop in down there at least once a day though. Or call at the minimum.
[TXT] Awesome!
[TXT] We could have like study sleepovers?
Several minutes later
[TXT] Although that would probably be weird since you’re like an actual grown up. Nevermind

cassiegermaine:
At the call out Cassie’s head popped out from behind one of the bookcases closer to the circulation desk. Even if she hadn’t been close to the front, the chances of her hearing Daisy were high. Heightened hearing and all. Cassie waved her over then quickly putting a finger to her mouth to signal quietness. She whispered softly when Daisy was near.
“Now, here’s more of a ridiculous part of the job. One of the enchanted books got out last night. It’s…actually kind of infamous for it, if you don’t lock it away properly. Anyways-“ She raised her brows, “It stalks, and it bites.” Just like a real animal, which was even more laughable. “I’ve gotten some nasty paper cuts before so we just gotta find it and corner it.” Her lips broke out into a small grin, “Easier with two wolves then one right? Alright, just start looking up and down the aisles. If you see any scene of destruction or hear some growling, you’re probably on the right track.” Cassie paused, realizing it was probably a lot to dump on someone. “You think you can do that?”
When Ms. Germaine poked her head out from behind a bookcase Daisy turned to the librarian with a smile, glad it wasn’t another one of those prank calls. She was about to speak again when Ms. Germaine motioned for her to be silent and come over. Doing as she was told she went over and waited for more instruction. Ms. Germaine explained that the trouble was a book which sounded remarkably like The Book of Monsters from the Prisoner of Azkaban. Daisy didn’t mention that part though. She smiled too as she nodded, but its more because she liked the feeling of being trusted. At home people had always been trying to get her out of the way, rarely letting her do anything.
Whispering back she said, “I’ll start that way, yeah?” After Ms. Germaine confirmed Daisy set off. She walked slowly down the aisle, looking for any sign of the book. A few rows down the rustling of paper caught her attention. She turned to see the book in the middle of the aisle. It had to be the most menacing book she’d ever seen although she wasn’t sure how exactly such a thing was possible. “Ummm...Ms. Germaine,” she called, “What do I do if I find it?”

Daisy woke to the sound of her phone going off. It took her a moment to remember where she was or rather it took her a moment to remember that this grand house wasn’t her father’s. As her heartbeat slowed down she picked up her phone to read the texts from Ms. Germaine on her home screen. She smiled, glad that her help was wanted. Climbing out of bed she went to start getting dressed before she realized that she ought to text back. Unlocking her phone she shot off a quick text.
[TXT] Be there soon, just got to put pants on first.
Once dressed and with just enough make up to be presentable, a lingering instruction from her mother, Daisy headed over to the university. It was early enough that not many people were about. She want straight to the library and slipped inside. Looking around she didn’t immediately see Ms. Germaine so she called out, “Ms. Germaine? I’m here.”
catch if you can || cassie + daisy
It had been close to a month since Cassie had been the one to open the library early in the morning, but she had been called just under an hour before from one of the dorm advisors. The boy was speaking quickly and uncertain, apologizing over and over but a student had walked by the library had heard more than a racket going on inside. They were sure it was a part of the library - a magical part, and no sort of burglar, but the trouble was he wasn’t able to reach anyone with a set of keys.
So Cassie, groggy and annoyed, drove into work stretching the truth to Lilo about why she had to head in early. If he knew they were handing this responsibility to her this far into pregnancy he would have been upset, and as far as Cassie was concerned, it wasn’t worth it.
Cassie walked through the rows and aisles of the library carefully, trying to keep the echo of her heels to a minimum, whatever broke lose would be better to catch first then it realizing Cassie’s presence. But as Cassie made it through the nature section, it wasn’t hard to see what was missing. A book on different magical beasts around the globe. Fuck. Of course. One of the students must have forgotten to lock it up correctly, and on top of it Cassie hadn’t double checked. She barely remembered lending it out at all yesterday.
She promptly texted Daisy. Not only was this a two man job - it would be good practice.
[TXT] Hey I need you to come to the library pronto.
[TXT] Sorry, but we have a bit of a problem we need fixed before other students start dragging in.

faye-andrews:
“You know what? I really don’t know. That’s a good question. I guess it would depend on if you remembered those things too? Magic is weird.” Faye gave the girl the long-suffering look of someone who knew that magic was indeed weird as fuck.
“It’s hot,” Faye said, though it was with good humor. “Like walkin’ around with a hot wet blanket over your head in the summer. But you’ll never find a place like it.”
They walked on for a bit, Faye checking a few doors here and there, most of which looked much like the first. They came to another cross-section, this one a four way, and Faye paused before moving to take the right corridor. As she did, a low humming sound came from further down the way. “Wait.” She put out a hand to stop Daisy before she could go further.
“Do you hear that?”
Daisy didn’t know too much about how weird magic was, but the look on Faye’s face spoke volumes. She considered how such an experiment might be carried out for a moment. No way that was particularly ethical immediately came to mind though. “I suppose that’s not really an experiment you want to try considering the possibility of people getting lost,” she replied.
She nodded when Faye explained that while hot and humid there was no other place in the world like it. As a native New Yorker Daisy knew only too well about hometown pride. She really would like to see it someday. She desperately wanted to travel and see the world outside of her father’s walls. Really it was the only thing she was certain she wanted. “It sounds like the solution then is visiting in the autumn or spring,” she replied with a bright smile.
For a little while Daisy walked beside Faye. Her claustrophobia had faded as she started to feel sure that she wouldn’t end up trapped down here. They came to a four way intersection and the professor stopped for a moment. Daisy’s wolf ears picked up the strange humming sound as well, but she wasn’t sure if she should worry about it. She nodded, “Yeah I hear it.” After pausing for a moment she asked, “Should we be worried?” As she asked the sound grew louder which probably wasn’t a good sign.

txt: Thank you. He’s gone now.
txt: Gotcha.
txt: I think he left town? Maybe? I haven’t seen him in a long time.
txt: I love history. My dad works for the South Carolina historical society.
txt: Is that a wolf course or is it for everyone? Sounds like it would be pretentious either way.
[TXT] There should be a better word for that. That sort of empathetic not responsible I’m sorry
[TXT] Ms. Savin said he left town
[TXT] Its pretty cool and focuses on the more unknown contributions by supernatural folks
[TXT] I think its more werewolf and vampires, partially to keep from eating people, but partially just to be pretentious

shivonnehauser:
There wasn’t a whole lot written in Daisy’s file, but Shivonne knew that wasn’t because of the Sheriff’s lack of thorough note-taking, she knew it was the keep the information to a minimum. There was a reason why there was barely any information on her case written there, and that was in case it fell into the wrong hands.
“We’ve been getting a lot of prank calls lately. Some kids thinking they’re gangster and having a turf war. It’s nothing dangerous, but they’ve been in trouble before and it’s starting to get out of hand,” Shivonne explained to Daisy, trying to ease her worry. All of the calls the department was recieving lately were either because the citizens believed the prank calls, or because they wanted the nuicence stopped.
Shivonne stood up and made her way over to the other side of the desk, kicking a chair towards Daisy and sitting next to her. “Nobody is going to take you anywhere you don’t want to go, ok? If it makes you feel better, you’re not the only person in this town whose trying to escape from someone,” Shivonne, herself, was there running away from someone.
Taking a deep breath, she continued, “If you feel like you need some…extra protection, I can send a couple of officers to monitor you for a little while. Undercover, no cop cars, just a couple of officers who can be around to watch over you.”
Daisy nodded as Ms. Hauser explained about the prank calls and started to feel a little silly. She knew of course that the prank calls were a thing. Earlier in the day someone had called her to claim she’d won a radio contest that she’d never entered. This had felt different though. For one the area code was New York City and not Soapberry Springs. The voice had sounded not quite like a teenager trying to sound like a grown man. It hadn’t sounded quite like her father either, but she’d never heard him on the phone.
Her eyes followed Ms. Hauser as the woman came to sit in the chair beside her. It was a simple gesture, but one that Daisy greatly appreciated. Desks created a power imbalance, one that she had seen both of her parents exploit. She nodded again, finding some comfort in the interim sheriff’s words. As much as Daisy didn’t want anyone to have to run and or hide from anything she was a little glad to find herself among people with similar experiences. It meant that they were less likely to believe her father’s words or give in to his violence.
“No, its alright. I don’t want to be any trouble,” she replied. “Besides you’re probably right, its probably just like those teenagers,” Daisy’s voice tightened involuntarily as she said it. She knew that she was probably overreacting. With all the prank calls happening it was probably just one of those. Still she couldn’t shake the gut feeling it was something more than that. However while the thought of going back to NYC made her stomach churn Daisy wasn’t jumping at the chance to be followed around by officers. She very much feared any sort of cage. As reassurance although for her or Ms. Hauser she wasn’t sure she added, “And Ms. Savin offered to let me stay at her family home, so I should be a little more hidden away up there.”

faux fur: describe your wardrobe.
Well when I lived in my father’s house it was all satin and pearls. Very classy and all that jazz. Now though I’m going for more of a lumberjack aesthetic honestly? Like give me a good flannel and some work boots and I’m happy.

Bubble Bath - Do you have any routines before bedtime? like skin care, etc. what are they?
My mother made sure that I had a strict skin care regimen so that my skin will be perfect when I’m older. No crows feet for you young lady. So I make sure to wash, exfoliate and moisturize every night and morning. I also moisturize the rest of me because no stretch marks for you young lady.
Jazz - Name a song that resonates with you and your emotions. explain the reason why.
Answered Here
Champagne - What topic could you talk about for hours?
Okay, I know its cliche af, but I could talk about NYC forever. Like most native New Yorkers I love my hometown and could talk about it ad nauseam.

Shorty Don’t Wait by A Great Big World. Its kinda like my mantra right now. The lyrics are all about not waiting for life to happen and to start over if you need to.

satin: what is your most favorite article of clothing?
My favorite article of clothing is this leather jacket I got for my birthday last year. It makes me look like a total badass, which I’m not really, but everyone wants to look like a badass sometimes right? Plus its one of the few things I took with me when I left.
