How can I sustain myself if my desire feels no mystery, no magic? How can I sustain myself if another’s eyes do not hold me tenderly? If all of my touches, mental or physical, cannot caress the pieces of another that wish to be recognized? To live for oneself is beautiful but one cannot live for oneself without another. I await our meeting, a meeting that acknowledges our eventual parting into the folds of reality. A hole is just a whole.

Remembering Germany’s beloved actor Bruno Ganz who died today (22 March 1941 - 16 February 2019). I especially treasure his performances in Wings of Desire I Der Himmel über Berlin  and The American Friend I Der amerikanische Freund, both for Wim Wenders.
