Fantastic beasts rant

ok so im gonna double down on this take i made on twitter. The first beasts film is pretty good for what it is, its a low stakes story about Newt trying to capture all of these fantastic beasts and not be put in super duper wizard jail for exposing wizard kind. It sets up Newt as a character, shows us the harry potter universe well before the books and movies so the setting and rules are now different (add on the fact its set in new york and not the UK like the books) it does everything a sequel/prequel should do when expanded a universe. Newt gets his beasts back, breaks out of government office jail and helps stop Johnny Depp. It sets up why the Government would ever contact Newt again and what should have been a series of films based around beasts doing things that might expose wizards and tying them in to the sources of cryptids across america. But no we got the sequels where Newt is somehow involved in taking out this evil wizard who actually wants to stop ww2 but will do something worse in its place and we will also gaybait Dumbledore for the 20th time because god forbid JK actually create representation and not just act like a one time mention on a blog post is enough to actually give a shit about gay people.

JK sucks and i own a copy of all HP movies and books so i am literally unable to give her any of my money unless my copies self combust.
