I am opening up pencil sketch commissions to help victims of the Palestinian genocide.

If you DM me a screenshot of a donation receipt of at least 20 USD (dated February 20th, 2024 or later), I will draw a pencil bust of a character of your choice. Larger donations are greatly encouraged and appreciated, but due to my own limitations I cannot do drawings more complex than the examples, even for bigger donations.

I will draw one character per donation. All drawings will be graphite pencil on paper.

I will draw: fanart, OCs, blood, body horror, stylistic representations of real people (i.e. not an accurate likeness)

I won't draw: animals/furries, overly complicated headpieces, accurate likenesses of real people

I will do sketches for donations to the following funds: Palestinian Children's Relief Fund, Hani Altat's fundraiser for Maha Rafieq Alsifie and her family, Crips for eSims for Gaza, Psychological Aid & Support for our People from Gaza, and Human Appeal Gaza Emergency Appeal.

i’m not adding to an already super long post but i just wanted to write an addendum to what i said in this post, because it’s got people up in arms. i expected that, hence the opening sentence lol

a lot of people seem to think that my aim with this post was to accuse people of homophobia for not liking tsats. that was not what i meant.

please understand i’m not calling individual people homophobes for not liking a book. i’m saying that the fact that the first queer installment of the pjo series having such a profoundly, bitterly negative reception on tumblr is a homophobic phenomenon.

Despite all the excuses and attempts at valid critique, it is not a not a coincidence that a gay book co-written by a queer author was taken in extreme bad faith and received an overwhelming volume of hateful, close-minded takes online. even though a lot of these takes are coming from queer people.

do you not understand how it looks? do you not see how discouraging this response is to other queer authors who are receiving the message that their depiction of queer fiction has to be flawless and perfectly representative of everyone’s experience in order to avoid getting lambasted by their own community? do you not get how senselessly invalidating the extent of the hate for this book is for the queer people who saw themselves represented in its pages?

normally when people don’t like a book, they make maybe one post reviewing it and they move on. when whole communities of people are going out of their way to rip tsats to pieces, overwhelm the tsats tag with posts complaining about and mocking it, and even hassle people who did like the book and have positive things to say about it, that’s not just “disliking a book.” that is something else. that is hateful.

in the original post i told people to look at the big picture. that’s the opposite of how people are taking it. they see my words and say “oh so you’re saying i’m a homophobe for not liking one book????” this is a knee-jerk, oversimplified defensive reaction. please check your ego at the door or you will miss the point of what i’m actually trying to say.
