"She was waiting for someone her whole life to sweep her off her feet." Yeager rushed over and picked up Casey, swinging her around, "Can you feel the love~."

A bright red blush as she hid her face a bit in her hair as he swung her around. Gloved fingers moved to hold onto his uniform so she didn’t accidentally fall. Gentle chuckles left her lips as she leaned forward and pressed a kiss on his lips. That was enough of an answer, otherwise, she’d only make a fool of herself trying to speak.

“i can’t see!! what’s happening to me?” [ :) ]

What kind of sister was she? Pulling the boy close, she rubbed his back. They were lucky it’d heal… but it’d had have been better had it never happened to begin with. Pressing a kiss on his head, she closed her eyes. 

“…It’ll only last for a week… just don’t take the bandages off, Yuri. Promise?”

He stood a ways away, before charging right at Casey and tackling her… for a big, warm, hug!!!!!

Eyes widened as the boy ran straight for her. Relaxing, she simply smiled as she wrapped her arms around him, being careful not to fall over.

“what do you mean you’re fine? you are not fine!” 

 “i’m fine, it’s just a flesh wound, i’ll be okay.” 

“for how long? how long were you bottling this up?“ 

“there’s so much blood, you won’t last.” 

“are you… throwing up in there?” 

“why aren’t you eating?” 

“just breathe… you’re okay, i promise, just breathe.” 

“i can’t breathe, i can’t –” 

“i woke up, & you were gone.” 

“just tell me something, was it really worth it?” 

"it’s okay to hurt & breakdown. you don’t have to be strong all the time.”

"Casey, please.. don't leave me.." Yeager was sobbing, holding onto his wife. All three of them were severely injured, having managed to get away as he held her. He didn't want her to die.

A grimace at the pain, but what mattered was not her own pain, but that everyone else was safe. “..You are alright? You’ll make it just fine without me.” A smile as she reached up to hold his cheek, her thumb wiping away some of the tears. They’d be just fine without her. Casey trusted them to carry on in her absence. 

“..You’ll be okay…” Brown hues slowly closed before her hand fell to her side.

A yawn as he was moved, ears twitching as his hat slipped off. He’s still tired, but the talk about food got him to be more awake. He sat up, rubbing his eyes and still leaning against his sister. A nod, some food sounded good.

✦✧   He smiled a bit. This was actually kind of nice. He had lived alone most of his life, so he had never once had a family-like situation. He chuckled a bit, “They’re only ham and cheese, so I hope you don’t mind, ja.” He took a bite out of his own sandwich, chewing it a bit. He had chosen wheat bread as it was more nutrition. “I also have some peanut butter and celery sticks if you want to try them as well.”

Taking a testing bite to make sure it was alright, she allowed Yuri to take on as well. “Why do you hunt werewolves, if you mind me asking?” she questioned. She wanted to know why. He came to this cave with the intent to kill them after all.

✦✧   “Yeager.” He sat down, looking at her, “I’m honestly surprised to have met you both, ja.” He pulled out some sandwiches he had packed for the trip, offering her one, “Would you like one? They’re ham and cheese.” He just wanted something quick to eat, so he had made himself some sandwiches for the hunt. Hopefully she wouldn’t oppose of trying them.

Watching him, she carefully sat down, letting Yuri rest his head against his lap. Looking up, she gave him a small smile, waiting for him to sit down as well. “I see no issue in eating some.” Looking down, she gently, moved to shake the boy’s shoulder. “Yuri, do you want to try?” Well after she ate one to make sure it was safe.

He actually did yawn this time, hugging Casey as he was picked up and leaning against her. It’s a lot easier to fall asleep when Casey’s this close to him, because Casey being there meant that he was safe and didn’t need to worry about anything while he’s asleep. Though he’s still trying to stay awake right now, he likely won’t be for much longer.

✦✧   “If I may..” He slowly walked over and offered her his hand, “If you are attacked, you are allowed to kill me. I want you to know that I do not wish to harm you, ja.” Yeager just continued to look into her eyes. He knew this dangerous, and he was going against his principles, but this woman had a child (he didn’t know they were siblings). He couldn’t just orphan the child and he refused to kill a child either. He had nothing he could do. ✧✦

Carefully shifting the small boy, she nodded her head. “Very well. But if you betray this trust and this child is harmed, I will not allow you to walk away so easily.” Taking his hand, she watched him for a moment. She could see his honesty, but she was still cautious. “My name is Casey, what is yours?”

He looked up at his sister, taking the other’s hand and squeezing it. Tail waving slowly as he moved closer, still wary of the hunter. Why wouldn’t he be? “Are we leaving again?” He didn’t have any attachment to this cave in the first place, and the two of them were always moving around for as long as he could remember. Just, he’s a little bit tired here, and tried not to yawn.

✦✧   Yeager looked at them and shook his head, “No, it is alright. I will not tell a soul about you two, ja.” He slowly stood up, beginning to back away slowly and picking up his weapon. He put the scythe gun back onto his back, “However, if you are not the one attacking the livestock in the village, this is bad. Very bad indeed. Both of you should stay safe, incase there’s any aggressive werewolves around.”

“And why should I trust you?” He hadn’t given her a solid reason outside his word. Kneeling down, she picked the boy up and let him rest against her chest. Rubbing his back, she gave a gentle smile to the boy before turning to Yeager and giving him a stern and serious look. “If there are, then it’s my place to look for them.” This was her territory for now and Yuri didn’t need to be afraid of being hurt.

Yuri was, for his part, staying mostly quiet this time. That doesn’t really stop him from growling though, even when Casey was patting his head. Hands clenched onto the back of his sister’s shirt. Were they going to have to run for it again…? He knew better than to trust whatever a hunter said, even if the other guy seemed weaponless.

✦✧   “I know you have every reason not to trust me, ja. However, I have come alone.” He looked at her, “However, it is against my creed as a hunter to harming children.” He knew there was a specific reason for this, as a lot of hunters would kill young children if their parents were confirmed to be supernatural. Yeager absolutely hated this and decided that he would not let any child die. “However, I must ask for you to not attack the neighboring village. They will likely send more men to hunt you two, ja. I’d be willing to bring you two food if you can trust me.”

“For your sake, I hope your words ring true.” There was no way she would let anyone hurt her brother. At his request, the woman looked away, almost as if her words hurt her in some way. “We will do no such thing. Nor have we ever done so.” The only things she had ever attacked where other werewolves that got too close or hostile or hunters that had found them. “Nor will we take your pitty.” Reaching down, she smiled and moved to take Yuri’s hand.

“Who’s that? He sounds weird.” But he listened to his sister, moving behind her yet still watching the man. Even with his ears covered by a hat, he hadn’t heard anyone who talked like that… “Yeah, leave already!”

✦✧   He frowned a bit, “Did those damn werewolves kidnap you two? Don’t worry, I know a safe route back to town.” He slowly walked in and stared when he saw their ears and tails, “O..oh.. you two.. are the werewolves..” He honestly sounded conflicted. After all, one of them was a child. He continued to look at them, before dropping his weapon to the ground and putting his hands up.

Brown hues watched the man carefully, patting her brother’s head for a moment. So he figured it out that easily. “Why should I trust you? More of your kind could simply be waiting outside the entrance.” She couldn’t attack this man, if he had fellow hunters outside then Yuri would easily get caught. She should have been more careful...
