there are days when i mourn the life i now imagine my younger self having (if it hadn't been for the trauma and lack of support from my mother, and perhaps my lack of drive).
speaking of, she sat with me today on the couch while we watched a documentary. originally, i had been completing an essay while using it as background noise; she walked in and sat beside me. she usually speaks out at me, even with no response, just to get her thoughts out loud. it's torture. i used to believe that was her way of attempting to relate. it's more self driven then anything. she would try to make it more enjoyable for me if it wasn't. i shouldn't stress myself over it. i want to leave on thursday. by the latest. i am no longer allowing myself to be bound to this house. or the grief from my family that appears in my absence. there was no love in my presence.
today i spent time trying. that's more than i can say for other days. trying. i am waiting for my breakthrough.
it hurts on days when i realize i am wasting my potential. i want to maximize it tomorrow. starting now, really.
