I was replaying chapter 2 again and during the first fight with Berdly in the bumper cars he mentions Kris is the number 3 student in the class!!!

I bet it would drive Berdly insane that Kris is not far behind him and Noelle considering they seemingly don’t even try, sleeping through class most days..

alsooooo I think the reason Kris is doing just as well is because they actually do put in effort but it doesn’t appear so because of their bad sleeping habits, I think they are pretty smart naturally and don’t need to work too hard but it’s shown they do struggle with certain subjects and Noelle helps Kris out, just like she does for Berdly.

(I had to add this, I can’t help myself.. I love theorising about dumb character stuff!!!)

googling shit like "why do i feel bad after hanging out with my friends" and all of the answers are either "you need better friends" (i don't; my friends are wonderful) or "your social battery is drained, you need to rest and regain your energy levels" (i don't; i've got tons of energy, it's just manifesting as over-the-top neurotic mania). why is this even happening. it's like some stupid toll i have to pay as a punishment for enjoying myself too much

btw when i was playing ch4, this was the moment that made me tear up out of everything because i feel like it so perfectly encapsulated them all.

none of them really understand whats going on, but they trust each other, they protect each other, they lift each other up.

just something about these three scared kids in the dark, with nothing but their own light to guide them, walking towards what must feel like certain doom really got to me.

Sometimes, I wonder if the Red soul is Kris' TRUE soul or if they have a different color

Maybe it's Light Blue/Cyan , for their colors in the dark world and maybe with how much Patience they seem to have with us most the time? Also, it would be really cool if Kris had their own soul power that they get to show once we are not puppeting with them anymore.

I'm sure everybody's already talked about this but how weird is it for Kris, that the player has their own knowledge, opinions and feelings about the people in their town?

That that must feel so weird.

To name a few very basic things....

Us greeting a man they've never met before with the same excitement of someone greeting an old friend

Us already knowing what Asriel looks like even though we have never actually seen him

Us obsessively trying to talk to neighbors Kris has never met

Not to mention if they can feel what we're feeling or at least gleam it from some of our actions???

That would be so terrifying.

We know so MUCH about their family that we shouldn't, have a relationship with each member that Kris doesn't.

Like could you imagine waking up with a soul that's not your own beating in your chest.... and when it sees your mother, you can actually feel it's surprise and excitement, know that it recognizes her.....

...or the cold shock it feels when it lays eyes on the totally normal flowers your father keeps.

That would be so spooky and unsettling, even the good, excited feelings would be so freaky because, there's so many moments were the player simply has WAY more context than Kris.

The soul from Kris's point of view must be just as hard, if not harder to understand as we find Kris to be sometimes.

Did this make any sense? I'm just rambling lmao. I'm sure this has been commented on a million times, but I wanted to talk about it too.
