INFORMATION   -----   ORIGINATION

          Her home planet  kohatu  ( maori , meaning  crystal ; stone )   was a place that maintained a fairly regular climate , with it often being cool , sometimes rainy .  the planet often held a glow of that after a rainstorm ; made up of bright , contrasting colors .  it was given its name because the planet itself was made entirely of crystals .  the core of the planet housed quartz , and the diversity of crystals increased as you make your way towards the surface .  these various crystals help give the planet its color , as well as forested areas that populate different areas of the planet .  water streams and rivers can be found throughout , as the erosion from the water is what gave the crystals its structure when creating its many hills and valleys .  in places where forests were present , it was never without some form of body of water , and was home to a great diversity of fauna and fungi that help maintain the life of the organisms that feed from them. 

          Since her home planet was a crystalline structure , they were often the target of intergalactic pirates and even local thieves , so there needed to be a defense system in place to ward off potential threats .  the  kaitiaki  were warriors who mastered offensive magic to guard the safekeepings of the planet .  these were the only type of individuals who could learn dark and destructive magic , and went through a vigorous program to ensure their competence and loyalty to the noblemen .  speaking of ; the  rangatira  were the noble class that focused on diplomatic affairs , and were restricted in learning only healing and illusion magic .  they were forbidden to learn any form of magic that could cause harm .  they include takuta (doctors) and monks , as well as the royalty that rule the planet.  lastly, the  kaimahi  were the working class of individuals who belonged to neither , and usually focused on farming and local goods to keep each village thriving .  they were also the forefront of trades between villages . the working class was limited to the kind of magic they were able to do , but were able to learn a little of both .  

          SMALL BACKSTORY :   Because of the laws restricting the use of magic unless for assigned duties , imani felt suffocated by the lack of freedom to harness the power she has within . she wants to learn all the types of magic , but growing up a noble , her experiences with destruction and dark magic were frowned upon and nonexistent . during her diplomatic visits to neighboring planets once of age , she has gotten a taste of freedom that could be seen ; a promise of freedom she’s craved for so long . one planet in particular has caught her interest , which was xenovair . she has befriended sierra xenovair , whom was next in line for the throne .  imani was very fond of her , and ultimately was the reason she decided to leave her home planet for some time . imani had decided to live on xenovair for a number of years , fulfilling her dream of fully encompassing her powers . it was a long process , lonely at times , but sierra was always a constant force helping her along the way . it isn’t until she heeds news that her planet was under a grim attack that she returns to help fight and regain the stability of kohatu. imani only hears of the great flood that drowned xenovair during her stay on kohatu , and felt as if a part of her died right along with those people. once balance had been restored , she seeks out the empress of xenovair , her dear friend and ally sierra , in hopes that she somehow made it out alive .

WHAT  DO  YOU  WISH  YOU  COULD  SAY ?

it  doesn't  have  to  be  a  deep  hurt  ,   but  someone  made  you  feel  horrible .   you  find  yourself  composing  mental  messages  to  them  constantly  ,   yet  the  thought  of  sending  them  makes  you  feel  levels  of  ill  that  you  didn't  know  were  possible .   all  you  want  is  to  get  over  this  pain  and  stop  thinking  about  it  when  you  think  of  them .   you  can't  yet  ,   though  ,   and  it  feels  like  a  failure .
