It’s been a while! For those of you who read my posts, I don’t look like the picture on my blog anymore. My hair has grown out and I wear glasses instead of my contacts everyday.
This part of me as moved on...it’s sad, liberating, and confusing all at once.
There was a time where I couldn’t tear myself from this page. I loved reading everyone’s opinions and learning more about the world outside of my suburban home. Now that I’m older and I’ve been out there, I find myself pushing myself to explore for myself instead of reading up and daydreaming. Don’t get me wrong, I still daydream, but it’s of something else now.

I’m finding it harder and harder to literally keep the faith.
As I pray for tolerance and acceptance and an open-mind to humans of this planet, many of my close friends and family are praying that we bring the Christian God back into public education, government, etc, and that the youth hold fast to their beliefs.
I love God. I am a follower of Christ and I believe He is the epitome of love. Love is not exclusive. Why must we keep insisting that it is?

Solemn Sundays
It’s very difficult to put my love for Christ and Christ’s apparent teachings head to head. After more research and reading, it’s becoming harder and harder for me to be as stable as I was in my faith. At least, in the Catholic faith.
I have a tattoo that says to love God and your neighbor. It’s from the Bible. But am I just as problematic as those who use the Bible to discriminate? Am I not merely picking and choosing what I believe is to be right? To what extent should I accept the Bible in it’s context dating up to 4,000 years ago and to what extent do I interpret His words for the present time?
I don’t want to be disappointed by my religion. I love the Sacraments and I strive to live like Jesus, but I have much trouble accepting teachings that are hurtful to others.
