This year, Captive Prince turns 10 years old! 

According to Freece’s Livejournal, the prologue of the first book was posted on May 23rd, 2008. Given this, festivities for the 10th anniversary are set to begin in a little less than a month! And this time we will do something special… Instead of having just a week, we will have an entire month dedicated to Captive Prince!

A ton of great ideas were suggested in the survey that we ran a while ago, and it was very difficult to leave out some aspects that you mentioned in your answers. However, we have gathered here what we believe are many of the most important themes and moments of the trilogy. We hope they will inspire you in your creative process!

If you have trouble reading the calendar, you may find the list of prompts below the cut.

Here are some guidelines for the event:

Most of the prompts were left open and ambiguous so you could interpret them in any way you want, therefore there are no limits on what you can create. 

Any explicit and/or disturbing content should be tagged as NSFW.

You are free to choose the amount of days you will create content for. You don’t need to create 31 pieces. In fact, you may only create one, if you so desire.

You can link a single piece to more than one prompt! Remember, no limits.

Any and all artistic and intellectual creations are welcome in this event! Fanart, fanfiction, cosplay, edits, songs, essays, videos… you name it!

If you’re a fanfiction writer, you’re welcome to add your work(s) to our AO3 collection.

When posting your creations, add the tags #caprimonth and/or #captiveprincemonth (within the first 5 tags), or alternatively @mention our blog so we can see and reblog your entries.

No hate or bashing (directed towards a creation or an individual) will be tolerated. Let’s respect each other and have fun!

If you love Captive Prince, if you were struck by the depth of the story, if you were captivated by the characters… come on and join the fun on our month-long celebration of this truly incredible trilogy!

The Captive Prince fandom is on a roll! We present to you the newest project…

With Flying Colors - a CaPri charity coloring book!

After hearing about the tragic events that happened recently in Puerto Rico (Hurricane Maria claimed 17 lives and completely wrecked the country) and Mexico (so far, almost 350 deaths have been recorded after the earthquakes), we wished to help as best we could. And since the CaPri fandom is so generous and so eager to create new content, we thought it would be nice to run a little ezine to raise funds for charity!

The project will kick off on October 15, and this is how things will work out:

Oct. 15 - Nov. 15: Submission period

***There will be no application process! If you want to join the zine, you will have to submit a finished piece to our email (will be made public on 10/15) anytime during this timeframe. The submissions will be evaluated and selected by the mods, but we aim to accept as many artworks as possible.

Nov. 15 - 25: Selection of artworks + Assembling of book

Nov. 25 - Dec. 24: PDF available for purchasing

Dec. 25: Donations made

To participate to this ezine, you must submit (at least) 1 Captive Prince artwork:

Single page, portrait: 14.8 x 21.0 cm (5.83 x 8.27 in) OR Spread, landscape: 29.6 x 21.0 cm (11.69 x 8.27 in);

New artwork only! We would like to see content fresh out of the oven and that hasn’t been posted online yet;

Digital and traditional art (preferably scanned) welcome!;

Finished, black and white only, clean and detailed lineart;

Files at 300dpi + .PNG;

No theme! Feel free to draw whatever you want as long as it’s about CaPri.

This will be an ezine only! 100% of the profits from the PDF sales will be split evenly between Direct Relief and TOPOS.

We hope you’ll want to join our cause by participating and/or by buying the book! And even if you can’t do either, spreading the word about this will help us a lot 💜 And if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

We’re very proud to announce that the Captive Prince Secret Santa is back for a second edition this year!

Tell me what’s a Secret Santa! It’s a really fun event in which you get assigned a person to create a gift for, and someone makes a gift for you too. Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, you can still spread love! Feel free to browse the 2016 entries to see how cheerful the event was last year.

Tell me who can participate! All CaPri fanartists and fanfiction writers aged 18 and above. Only 50 regular participants and 10 backup gifters will be accepted, so get in while you can! There is no cap on the amount of beta readers we will accept.

Tell me where I can read more detailed info about the event! There are more specific explanations in the Rules and FAQ pages, which you’re required to read before signing up to the event. (Here are the mobile Rules and FAQ.)

Ohhhh that’s an interesting idea indeed.... I usually just leave it to the people to look up what they want in the general tags of the blog like #fanfiction and #fanart. But hmm.... I guess some people like to have the stuff centralized. I’m a little bit short on time these next few days, but I’ll work on this for sure!

Disfraz.

Pensando en retrospectiva, era realmente ingenuo de su parte creer que al convertirse en Rey, sus aventuras fuera de la realeza, y totalmente inapropiadas para su estatus, se acabarían.

Él parpadeo a las carrozas naranjas, tanto como notó de reojo hacían sus soldados.

¿Quién en su sano juicio se embarcaba en un viaje de camino por carretera, con semejante caravana llamativa?

La única persona que conocía desafiaba la lógica, y se salía con la suya, llegó, no siendo menos, presentándose de una espléndida manera digna del más respetable y atractivo comerciante de telas. Su vestimenta acompañada de una larga pluma en su sombrero, no hacía más que acrecentar su belleza y el travieso brillo de su mirada al enfocarse directa en Damen.

Semana Príncipe Cautivo: Día 8. Parte 1.

Lealtad.

Existía algo curioso sobre aquel lugar y su paz, tanto sonora como espiritual.

Resultaba sobrecogedor, un poco espeluznante, pero la imagen general desaparecía un poco cuando los ojos de Laurent encontraban la estatua.

Rodeado de más muertos, incluyendo a sus padres, él tenía como objetivo un solo lugar.

Sus pasos eran apenas amortiguados, ligeros, pero de alguna manera amplificados por el mausoleo. Sus movimientos vigilados por otras tantas figuras mudas, muertas y sin significado.

Era reconfortante imaginarse en un futuro descansar en el frío y amplio lugar, descansando eternamente al lado de la única persona que apreciaba, y la única que importaría siempre.

Semana Príncipe Cautivo: Día 7.

Jardines.

Con el clima tan gentil, sus soplos aromáticos, llenos de perfumes variados, desde mar a frutas y madreselva; era fácil hacer de la temporada una memorable, por encima de tantas otras en su historial.

El calor era lo suficientemente tolerable; el cielo tan azul como los ojos que lo miraban.

Damen recordaría la semana que pasó, con desenfrenado cariño loco. Un desafío constante para construir otros momentos, sin lograr eclipsar el incalculable valor de los días llenos de felicidad.

Las difusas tardes llenas de actividades, desde las más simples a las más deseadas, no podían disminuir su esplendor ni siquiera ante el inminente final.

Permaneció de pie viendo a la comitiva de Laurent prepararse para la partida, muchos agradecidos sin soportar por más tiempo las altas temperaturas, la luz brillante y la simplicidad tan contraria a su propia cultura vereciana. Salvo por una persona que no mostraba mayor muestra de su resistencia de la que en la intimidad dejo entrever.

Ellos se habían despedido de una forma más privada. Alargando algo que no querían lleva a cabo, su reunión fue pausada, permitiéndose de igual forma ser honestos con sus deseos, al menos entre los dos.

Semana Príncipe Cautivo: Día 6.

Deportes.

—Oh, tenemos a un interesado. Pase y siéntese, joven. Y prepárese para ser sorprendido. Después de esta noche, su vida no volverá a ser la misma.

Seguro con la profesión venia el dramatismo.

Laurent se sentó enfrente del hombre y le miro mover las cartas con la destreza típica de alguien que ha hecho lo mismo un millón de veces.

Primero, lo básico: adivinar la carta que anteriormente Laurent había tomado del montón. Después, aparecer dicha carta debajo de una de las copas; eso sí fue impresionante, aunque fácil de descubrir por sus movimientos no tan agiles.

Era en realidad sorprendente que alguien que luciera como lo hacía ese hombre fuera tan inteligente para realizar aquellos actos interesantes.
