with each new iteration suzanne finds ways to weave the undeniable message that katniss and peeta are soulmates into the very fabric of the series and that is something i deeply respect

the d12 wedding tradition being BREAD and FIRE how were the gale x katniss shippers so loud back in the day like in what possible conceivable world is everlark NOT the outcome of the series??????? how could anybody come to the conclusion that she was meant to be with anyone but peeta????????

this may be me being a hater (which i am but not usually about thg books) but why does sotr feel like such a downgrade from tbosas? seriously, i love tbosas. i think it is an AMAZING addition to the rest of the series. it’s interesting, compelling, and adds more depth to snow’s actions later on. i have re-read it multiple times!!!

sotr feels so different. it introduces new characters i like (d12 tributes, lou lou :(, haymitch’s family, lenore dove, ampert), adds little tidbits about old characters i like (the covey, the victors), and has an interesting premise but idk. maybe i need to read it again???

the thing with effie is that while i was never a huge fan of her i appreciate her role in the book, she has her purpose and she served it. but then the movies come along and they change her into a rebel (not well though) and now everytime she's being analyzed people are using the movies to do so and ignoring book!canon or pretending it doesn't exist.

sotr is not even close to my favorite book in the series but i found plenty of things in it to enjoy. the movie on the other hand? absolutely about to be my least favorite adaptation and that’s saying a lot 😭
