My Journey to Escape the War in Gaza

My name is Abdelmajed. I never imagined I’d be sharing my story like this, but life in Gaza has become unbearable. I am a survivor of the war here, and in the blink of an eye, everything I once knew—my home, my safety, my community—was ripped away from me.

The war has transformed Gaza into a graveyard of broken dreams. The buildings that once stood as symbols of life and resilience are now piles of rubble. Every corner is filled with the echoes of explosions. Every moment is shrouded in uncertainty. There is no security. There is no stability. There is no light at the end of the tunnel.

Basic needs have become luxuries. Food is scarce. Clean water is even scarcer. Hospitals are overwhelmed and under-resourced, and there is almost no medical care to be found. Every night, families go to bed hungry, praying they’ll wake up to see another day. The cost of basic necessities has skyrocketed, and it’s become a daily battle just to survive.

I’ve seen things I never thought possible—standing in long lines for a piece of bread, rationing every drop of water, and watching my people suffer in silence. I have lost everything—my home, my safety, my dignity.

Escape from Gaza is my only hope, but it’s almost impossible without financial help. The cost of evacuation is far beyond my means, and without support, I’m trapped in a warzone with no way out.

I’m reaching out to you now, in the hopes that someone, anyone, can help. I am not asking for luxury. I am asking for a chance—just a chance—to live. A chance to escape this never-ending cycle of fear, destruction, and loss. A chance to rebuild my life somewhere safe, where I can begin again, where I can find hope once more.

Any amount you can give will help me get closer to safety. Even the smallest donation will make a difference—it could be the lifeline I need to survive. I love Usopp and Perona because good fights turn me on give a special relationship to the characters in them. I live by the Baki-inspired philosophy that fighting=fucking, and you know this one was freaky as hell (see panel redraw above) Other than that, their dynamic is hilarious and I can’t resist the eternal appeal of the lovely Perona. Brave Faces

Usopp was a coward. Of course he was a coward, he ran away from everything. But this ? He didn't know if he wanted to run and hide or let it happen. He was afraid, of course, but then, he was always afraid. Zoro's rough hand was holding his face.

"You've got the prettiest damn eyes I've ever seen, you know." His voice was tender and soft, but still gruff and assertive.

Usopp shrank away.

"O-oh really ??" He was nervous, but his eyes kept flitting down to Zoro's lips.

Zoro smiled coyly.

"You coward. Just say what you want, I won't judge you." His voice was teasing and gentle, completely flabbergasting Usopp, who only ever really saw him as a grumpy drunk.

Usopp breathed heavily, his face red. Zoro's face was red as well, and Usopp noted that he looked like a cute strawberry. The mental image almost made him laugh, but the humor was silenced as Zoro's hand reached for his hip. Usopp's hand almost involuntarily reached for Zoro's shoulder. He was shaky.

*Why am I doing this ? What's wrong with me ? What if I mess up ? What if- Stupid, stupid Usopp. You're going to screw this up. You should've just left him alone. You're nothing. What's wrong with you ? You should just-*

His train of thought was interrupted by a gentle touch. Zoro's finger was brushing against his jaw. He started to sweat bullets. Did he really want this ? He was being stupid, of course he wanted this. He'd wanted it for 2 years by this point. He was finally getting what he wanted most and he was stressing. What an idiot. He plastered a lopsided grin on his face.

"Moron." Zoro was insulting him in that complimentary way. That was a good sign.

Usopp allowed his eyes to shut as his heart pounded against his ribcage like a drum. He felt Zoro's breath against his face. It had the smoky, musky, woody scent of whiskey. He took it all in. It was... odd. He was so close to what he wanted, yet he was so apprehensive. And this wasn't how he imagined his first kiss going at all, pressed against the wooden walls of the Thousand Sunny. He imagined laying down in messy blankets, his hair splayed around his head like a princess in a tall tale, with Zoro half-drunk and flirting in that way Usopp liked. He would be slightly apprehensive but mostly excited. This wasn't like that at all, yet for some reason, he wouldn't change it at all.

Zoro's hands came to Usopp's hips, and Usopp's arms reached around his shoulder. Usopp's heart was hammering in his chest now. It sounded like soldiers marching down the street. Their faces came closer and closer and closer until...

Zoro's lips pressed against his and Usopp's breath hitched. This was nothing like he had expected. Zoro's lips were soft and the kiss had a sense of reckless urgency behind it. Usopp melted in, his hands coming to Zoro's face to pull him in. He desperately wanted the moment never to end. He pulled away for a second to breath, then he went back in. His throat fizzed like soda and his head pounded like fireworks. Magic. It was magic. He was kissing him, really, really kissing him.

Usopp could feel Zoro's long eyelashes flutter against his cheekbones, soft butterfly kisses on his tired eyes. Zoro's hands came to the back of Usopp's head and he ran his fingers through his curls.

Zoro pulled away and looked at him. Usopp looked back, their eyes meeting for just a second. The kiss was over but the moment wasn't. Zoro grabbed Usopp's hands and pulled them closer to him. He began to kiss his scars, leaving trails of tenderness in his wake. Usopp felt his heart flutter. He'd never realized Zoro was a romantic, but he wasn't upset by any means. He'd wanted this desperately for so long and everything was so, so perfect. He couldn't fathom a better moment, never, not in a million years. Finally, Zoro pulled away completely, panting slightly and wiping his mouth. He smiled, seeming pleased with himself. Usopp looked around for a moment, before his eyes fell on the doorway, where Robin was standing, slightly dumbfounded, before sighing with a knowing smile.

"Ah, young love..."
