They quickly reach the CG Headquarters and get comfortable in Marlo‘s office with some sweets. They each take a picture of their respective trophies. Marlo‘s is a luxurious head ornament with gems and gold and Thire‘s is a collier with rubies and saphires.

They send the pictures to Wire without telling who took which and ask him to decide which he likes better.

Wire looks at the pictures. He just has to choose one but both look very good. Which one does he like the most? Well, if it's about craftsmanship then he would suggest the head ornament, but for practicality sake he would say the collier because it has some personal use and would be better than the headpiece as a gift even? It does look pretty with all the gems on it. He texts them back.

I choose the collier.

"Yeah yeah, I know. Now make sure you get a new datapad and report to Marlo's office an hour before lights out. Don't go anywhere alone and take care while I'm not around." He tells him serious, then adds with a worried look. "I don't want anything happening to you, Lulls. Please, be careful."

Wire's next note is a printed picture of a gun held against the sleeping form of Lulllaby.

You can't protect them all, weakling. Maybe he's next?

Wire slams the note down on his desk and tries to contact Lullaby. He needs to tell him. He's in danger and he will likely not be the only one.

He contacts Lullaby and asks if he's okay and if they can meet. Their meeting on top of the one he has planned with Marlo will make today have a busy schedule. He at least hopes both of them are fine.

"Hey, take a deep breath, Lulls. I'll contact him and let him know it wasn't you. You know what? I'll let him know right now!" Wire grabs his datapad and contacts Cody who doesn't take long to respond. Wire explains Lullaby's lack of a datapad and asks if Cody might have gotten a weird message from him.

Cody's response is amused laughter. Apparently the imposter tried to insult him and pretend Lullaby is breaking up with him. It does sound ridiculous and it makes Wire laugh himself when he gets send the full message.

"He didn't think it was you, Lulls. No need to panic." He wipes Lullaby's relieved tears away and tells him Cody says he loves him, 'his sweet song'. "See? No need to worry any longer." He says, than cringes at his own spoken untruth. "Well, actually nevermind, because this vod actually treathened you in your sleep."

He passes Lullaby the note. "You're staying with me and Marlo tonight, no but's. We're keeping an eye on you, I don't want you sleeping alone knowing someone is after not only you, but all of us. We're better off together."

So he's getting them now too...

Wire clicks his tongue and hides the note in one of his pouches. It would be best to safe any evidence. He doesn't understand why this vod would go after him though. Why would they go out of their way to try and get in between his relationship with Marlo? It's just such a waste of their breath and both their times. He gets his comm and contacts Marlo, telling him they need to talk later.

"Then let's go there." He hugs Lullaby for a little while longer, before pulling away and wrapping an arm around his shoulders. "Want to do a shooting match while we're at it? Bet I could beat you with a standard blaster."

"Wireeee", Lullaby gets up from his chair as soon as Wire enters thwir shared office. He looks more than miserable, his eyes a little bloodshot and his posture a little hunched over.

Nothing new. This always happens when Cody leaves for another unknown amount of time, perhaps not returning at all. It's just that one day of absolute hell for Lullaby, his emotional down after the euphoeric high of seeing Cody for a couple of days.

"Hey, Lullaby. You okay?" He asks worried as he sees how his fellow captain looks. He's not too surprised by this though. Lullaby usually has a period where he feels a bit more down after Cody has just left.

"Yeah..." Cody left all right. Wire pulls Lullaby in for a hug, trying to comfort his best friend. "How about we go do something later? Sparring mat or the shooting range? Maybe we can go to 79's tonight? What do you feel like? Cuddling is of course perfectly fine as well."

Soup scoops up the cornflakes in record time, enjoying the crunchy feeling as a change to other soup types he had tried. When he's done, he washes out the remains of the milk and dries the bowl off.

"Thank you very much, this was very good. You think I can have this again sometime?", he asks with a bright hopeful smile.

"Yes, of course." Wire tells him. "You can always come back here and make it yourself, just save some for the others and it should be fine. And if you ever want some company then let me know."

"Guess I should have known that", Soup says with a nervous chuckle. He tries the cornflakes again, this time pleasantly surprised.

"Oh, now I know, what you meant with crunchy. This is way better, yeah."

Wire chuckles. "Glad you like it."

"Cool. Meet me in my office when your shift is over, we're going to make ourselves a nice, comfy evening."

He gets up to gather his things - being eyactly himself.

Wire casually salutes him, "Sounds like a plan. See you soon."

"I could make you drunk for it. For free", Thorn wiggles his eyebrows.

Wire snorts. He's not all that into getting drunk, but he won't say no to a few free drinks. "Alright, I'll bite. But just a few drinks, I won't be getting drunk."

[captain-wire]

"I don't know. Why wouldn't you? Loving someone is wonderful, isn't it?", he makes a dreamy face, "I remember well how I ranted on about Fox for hours at night with my best friend."

"Well...i guess so, but I don't really know if I feel comfortable with sharing." He immediately realises his mistake, stupidly admitting that there is in fact someone he likes.

"Oh, I'm just in the mood. Marlo and I talked about Fox before and now I'm sort of on the run, you know. I wanna hear some sweet stories. You got your eye on someone?", he leans back comfortably, holding himself up on his arm and crossing his legs like the proper gossip he is.

He's not going to tell Thorn about him liking Marlo. Not without knowing for certain if he can keep his mouth shut. So instead he tells him: "Hypothetically, if I were to like someone, why would I share that information with anyone?"

"Curious? About what?"

"Why you're asking me about my love life?"
