"Those are you cousins, Connie." Matt smiled and ruffled Connie's hair affectionately. "They're going to love having a new playmate and that playmate's you!"

The small child hugged Matt affectionately and smiled up at Amelia. "I'm...I'm happy to be home! I missed Papa lots! Lots and lots!"

She chuckled at the kids, glad they were quickly getting along. "Yep, the best auntie on the planet. That's Anna and Elena, they're my daughters. And the baby is Kristoph. I'm glad we could be here to meet you. I'm glad you are back home now."

Matt smiled sweetly at Emily and then glanced down at Connie. Ruffling his hair, he coaxed him out from behind him and over to Mattie. "She doesn't bite, squirt. Don't worry. Mattie's a nice person..."

Connie twiddled around with his shirt and nodded slowly. "Yea....Papa says I'm special." He mumbled, soon holding out his little hand for Mattie to shake.

Connie sniffed them back and after the kids finished, he smiled wide. Well....that was quick and easy for the kids to familiarize themselves. When it came to Amelia though.....Connie was a bit more weary toward this tall person. "Auntie...?" Connie looked to Matt and Matt smiled and nodded. That made Connie relax and he hopped off Matt's lap to shake the woman's hand. "Hiya!"

Matt held onto Connie's hand as the small child practically clung to Matt's leg. Yup. He was back to being shy. When Mattie asked the question, Connie looked up to Matt who gave a nod. "Y-yes...." He muttered, looking back down to the rug 

"I'm sorry...I didn't think he'd be this shy." Matt knelt down and ruffled Connie's hair. "You were having a fun time with sister Emily weren't you?" Connie nodded. "Were you having fun, Emily sweetie?"

When Amelia came bursting through the door with her children, Connie let out a small squeak and hid behind Matt. He was still timid around others. With a small sigh, Matt coaxed him out and put him on his lap. "Hey sis, hey kiddos!" He smiled a bit and patted Connie's head. "Here's the little bugger, Connie.....he's a bit shy so be friendly, okay?"

Amelia stood with her gaggle of children, trying to direct them to just enter the home- please. She sighed and pushed the door open, the girls swarming in. "Hey hey, auntie Amelia is here!" She called with a grin, waddling in with the baby and all his supplies. "Where is my adorable nephew?"

With a small sigh, Matt hung up his phone and when Connie woke up, he put the kid in his lap. "Rise and shine sleepy-head. Have a good nap?" 

Connie yawned and nodded sleepily. "Yeaa.....I had lots of good dreams too!"

"Oh? Why don't ya tell me one of them."

Before Connie could say anything, the doorbell ran and the dogs immediately woke up and ran for the door. Amelia was here!

She smiled and nodded, despite him not being able to see. "Okay, I will be back there really soon. Tell him his auntie can't wait to see him and meet him." She hummed, watching the road. "Okay, I will get there soon. I promise."

"Love ya'....Alexander." Matt winked at him as he walked off to make the phone call. When Mattie spoke up again, Matt took in a deep breath and nodded slowly. "Yea. I'll go and get him. He's in the kitchen with the dogs and, well, since you don't like dogs I'll avoid the hassle of you having to possibly deal with them." 

Quickly walking away to the kitchen, Matt saw Emily and Connie talking as the played with Kuma and Lindt. "Hey. Here are two of my most favorite people." He held out his hands for the kids to take. "Let's go meet up with Mattie and Alexander in the living room. We can play with the dogs later, okay? They need to go outside for a bit and get some fresh air."

Connie looked a bit nervous when Emily got closer to him. When Lindt walked over to Connie's side, he stepped out and stood by the dog's side. "Yea...I'm Connie. Papa told me about you. He said you're really really nice...."

Matt rubbed the back of his head nervously. "Funny thing 'bout that. The Grey Faces sent me Connie. I don't know how he's bloodline but, he is. And sure. This Jonathan fellow can come to the party." Fishing for his phone, he gave it to Alexander. "Here. Give 'em a call."

Matt sighed softly and looked over to Connie. He was still sleeping on the couch and now the dogs were asleep at Matt's feet. Getting up, Matt unlocked the front door. "Door's open so you and the girls can just come right in. Ah...Connie's waking up now, better go and make him some lunch now."

She pursed her lips pulling out of the driveway. "Hey, you aren't alone, you've got me. You're great with kids, and I know you'll be amazing." She clutched at the wheel at Mattie's name. "Hey, I know they still love you, and always will. Mattie... I don't know what's up with her, we don't talk since I tried to defend you. But yeah, rant away bro, get it off your chest. I'm on my way right now by the way, have all three kids." She smiled as she looked at the confused girls in her rear view mirror.

Matt held Aleander tightly and smiled at how affectionate he was being. "Hey, hey. It's no problem at all, dude." He replied with a smile. "And who's your friend? One more person to the party wouldn't be a problem. I, uh, actually would like you to meet someone. Guess what....you and Emily now have a step brother. My son, Connie..." Looking around, Matt frowned a bit. "He's....hiding somewhere."

The sound of excited and happy barking could be heard from within the kitchen. Looked like Emily found her fluffy friends. "Ah...! Emily! Hey sweetie!" She found Matt too. Giving her lots of hugs and kisses, he soon went to the front door and found Mattie and Alexander. "Hey! There's the birthday boy! Happy Birthday Alexander!"

In the kitchen with Emily and the dogs, Connie timidly peaked out from the side of the fridge. "....Are you Emily?" He asked softly, still poking his head around.

Matt smiled as he looked at his house. It was already decorated for Alexander's birthday tomorrow. He and Connie had fun decorating and making the house look festive for Matt's son and Connie's step brother's birthday. 

"I think we did a great job, don't you think so too, Connie?" Matt asked his son, ruffling his hair affectionately.

Connie giggled softly and took Matt by the hand. Giving a firm nod, he replied. "Ya! I think he'll love it! It's super cool and it's all orange and rock and rolly!"
