Epic Proportions Answers
So, in an effort not to spam everyone’s dash with multiple posts here are the answers to the questions we’ve had recently.
Is there a minimum word count?
No.
For authors the challenge requires a multi-chapter story of at least five parts. The length of the chapters is entirely up to you.
Not every author is the same and if your chapters only average 500 words each then that’s entirely up to you.
I don’t read, write or draw smut/AUs/whump, is this a problem?
No.
Just let us know if there’s anything you particularly don’t want to read and we’ll try to accommodate you.
As an author or artist you’re free to create whatever you’re comfortable with.
My story’s gen, is this a problem?
No.
As this is the Captain Swan Epic Proportions Challenge we expect Emma Swan and Killian Jones to feature in your creations but there is no pressure to have them bump uglies, kiss or even exclusive to each other.
I’m worried about writing in isolation.
Don’t be!
A fundamental part of Epic Proportions is the cheerleading. Not only will you have your beta and your artist to help you move things along, but there’s a team of people who have signed up just to help authors.
We’re here to provide feedback, bounce ideas off or just rant to!

The Captain Swan Epic Proportions Challenge
Welcome to the launch of The Captain Swan Epic Proportions Challenge 2018.
What is it?
Epic Proportions is a collaborative, creativity event that encourages fandom fic writing and art. The aim is to have multiple pieces ready for publication at one time, giving the Captain Swan fandom the satisfaction of gorging on a content feast!
When is it?
Epic Proportions sign ups are open from now! The challenge will run over the course of the next seven months and all content will drop on 16th September 2018.
How can I get involved?
We’re looking to get as many people involved as possible- readers, writers, artists and lurkers. Have a look through the pages below then sign up here

Welcome to the 2018 Captain Swan Spring Fic Formal!
Hey there shippers! Do you enjoy interacting with shipmates? Like writing? Making art? Mixing some music? Making people smile? Didn’t have time for the other fandom events because the holiday season is insane? Bummed by the Spring slump between CSLB and CS Supernatural Summer? We have something for you!
The Captain Swan Spring Fic Formal is a mini secret gift giving event hosted by @distant-rose and @awkwardnessandbaseball to celebrate one of our favorite ships in Once Upon a Time and make the Spring season even brighter! Who needs to wait until Christmas or Valentine’s Day to spread the love? Certainly not us!
Matching is done in mid-March and the showering of gifts starts in late April!
