Found this lil guy on a night snorkel with guests recently. It’s known as a slipper lobster which are edible and delicious. However, because of their scarcity I always catch and release. This guy was so caught up in my light he walked right onto my open palm!! Such a memorable experience!! Slipper lobsters are not true lobsters, but are more closely related to spiny lobsters and furry lobsters. Slipper lobsters are instantly recognisable by their enlarged antennae, which project forward from the head as wide plates.
