Roaming the Earth when there was nothing else, Stromataluses are solitary creatures. Powering themselves via sunlight or heat from the planet, they'd travel over the shallow seas and barren land of its time, searching for something unknown to us.

Hemaslime, the Oxidized Armor Pokemon!
Type: Fire/Steel
Evolves from Kiffer while holding an Iron Ball When a Kiffer becomes more experienced in its fire usage, it begins to melt nearby rocks into hardened iron sheets. It uses these to form a shell around its rear, evolving into a Hemaslime. These creatures sift through the sediment for detritus and burrowing organisms to eat, as well as for more materials to plaster on their backs and to strengthen their shells.

Kiffer, the Patchwork Pokemon!
Type: Fire
Evolves into Hemaslime Upturning the sediment for food with their proboscis, Kiffers scootch slowly across the seafloor. To better protect themselves, they will sometimes heat up and harden the surrounding minerals into more solid plates, which it will pick up and place along its back.

Evolves into ??? Soaring across the cosmos, Minior land on Earth, delivering rare materials and elements. In the distant past, Carbohsian Minior would make up a vast majority of the solar system, arcing across the sky and smashing together to form the first protoplanets.

Pushed along by the currents, Graptochromes grab and filter plankton to eat. Their vibrant colors are to signal toxicity to predators, and a sign of fitness for mates.

Gelanocyst, the Suction Pokemon!
Type: Fairy/Flying
Gelanocysts evolved from truly sessile creatures, which, by definition, lived unmoving on the seafloor. By replacing a dug-in stalk for a suction cup, Gelanocysts are able to move by popping off of the seafloor and allowing the currents to whisk them away from danger.

By learning to control and manipulate even larger objects with their brine, the strongest of Clammacles will evolve into Bivalvulons. They walk across the ocean floor with two rocks they employ as legs.

Evolves into Clammacle Evolving a calcareous shell for protection, Shellicks interact with the world outside by producing brine. This brine is manipulated to touch and freeze stuff around it, enabling movement and defense against predators.

Evolves from Shellick Evolves into Bivalvulon Locked onto the ocean floor, Clammacles wait to ambush passing prey. They've adapted to weather even the strongest currents by leaking their brine out of their mouths, literally freezing themselves to the rocks around them.

Type: Normal
After a set of massive ice ages at the end of the Proterozoic, multicellular life finally began to kick off, giving us some of the first large Pokemon. Being too primitive to exhibit true bilateral symmetry, Glidetile and other species like it would instead grow sections one side at a time, starting from a center node.

Evolves from Carbohsian Anorith A large and imposing predator for its time, Raptorith were the kings of Eohsian seas. It's theorized that they would pick up armored prey, flipping them over to expose their soft underbellies to eat.

Type: Bug
Evolves into Raptorith
This is one of the first large predators the world had seen. By undulating its flippers, it could glide through the water. Its frontal appendages were well adapted for bricking up prey to draw up to its oddly circular mouth.

Cradifly, the Feather Star Pokémon!
Type: Ghost/Flying
Evolves from Carbohsian Lileep
Finally breaking away from the ocean floor, Cradiflies move in the water by paddling their feathery appendages. To traverse the oceans faster, Cradiflies have shed most of their armor in favor of a rigid skin that partially covers their mouths and makes them more aquadynamic.

Having extended from the ocean floor, Lileeps splayed out their feathers to catch prey floating in the surrounding water. Having found a living so deep, they were dark in coloration and haunting in their movements.

In the earliest days of Earth, Extremobacter’s ancestors lived in extremely hot and inhospitable environments. Despite places like this beginning to give way to more temperate and safe habitats, Extremobacter is still able to call acid pools and hydrothermal vents its home.

Mossboss, the Overgrow Overlord Pokémon!
Type: Grass/Dark
Evolves from Floorwort
Having laid claim to land, Floorwort would expand itself over the empty territory. Latching onto rocks to draw minerals from, they would eventually relax into their controlled space, becoming Mossbosses. Mossboss would continue the legacy of Floorwort’s violent territorialism by smacking all other Pokémon away from its space.

Floorwort, the Liverwort Pokémon!
Type: Grass
Evolves into Mossboss
Before coming onto land, Floorwort were fiercely territorial plants, fighting each other for nearby resources. Clusters of Floorwort by the seashore were so internally competitive that many were forced onto the land to survive. They protected themselves from desiccation by folding their fronds inwards.
