If Nora is sticking with the first time Jean laughing being with a random Trojan fan, I hope it’s a scene from Jeremy’s pov, where the team is like saying hi to ppl in the stands or whatnot and suddenly there is this deep rumbling beautiful laugh from somewhere to Jeremy’s left and he looks over, and it’s Jean laughing. Like full body laughing with a hand up to his mouth to maybe stop himself or stifle the sound, but it’s doing nothing, and Jeremy would pay all the money in the world to know what the hell got Jean to laugh like that, but he can’t look away from Jean to find out. The world narrows and slows and the stadium falls away and there is Jean, laughing so hard there are tears in his eyes and gorgeous and lit up in a way Jeremy’s never seen before

I just know that Jean & Jabberwocky will be one of those dog/owner pairs that WEIRDLY look like each other.

They have the EXACT same expression on their faces. Jean & Jab will take a long walk on the beach, and then they will settle down to people-watch, staring at passers-by with twin looks of silent judgement on their faces.

When Jeremy does something silly/clumsy, they both turn to look at him in bewilderment and huff in exasperation at the same EXACT time. It CRACKS Jeremy up like nothing else.

Jean will have long-winded, muttered conversations in French with Jab, and Jab will stare at him like he absolutely, 100% knows what he's talking about. He'll even bark and huff at Jean in reply.

They soon become a staple at the dog park.

Jean looks so scary, but he's walking this scraggly, timid scrap of a dog you know? So he must not be so bad. And the children will take dares at getting closer to him; the parents and other dog owners will try and talk to him, but Jean (+ Jab) will only stare at them like so 🫩 or 🤨

BUT WHEN JEREMY COMES ALONG? The other owners are shocked to their core, bc the serious, forbidding mountain of Frenchman is smiling softly at Jeremy and blushing and being super indulgent with him; and Jab? He's looking at Jeremy like he's the centre of his universe. The people around them don't know which of the two has a worse case of pathetic, sappy heart-eyes.

he’s on his way there already but just. loving the idea of jean becoming unrecognizable to the ravens who thought they knew him—him getting stronger and healthier in california so his build changes, so far removed from the nest that he has no injuries or bruising for the first time in their collective memory. him standing tall next to jeremy on the court, no longer slouched over to conceal an injury or to make himself less of a target. jean getting a haircut he likes that flatters his features and makes him feel good. him getting so much sun that he gets freckles in a way he hasn’t since he was a child, smiling and laughing with his friends on the sidelines of a game. if it weren’t for the tattoo they’d think he was an entirely different person, and he kind of is, free in a way he’s never been before, and it suits him so beautifully

Hey, hey, hey… At the press conference, an interviewer tells Jean in French that he's from France, and the French are very proud and happy that there's a Frenchman in this new sport, which is now gaining popularity in Europe. They'd love to see Jean playing in his home country.

Jean answers in French, and everyone is amazed.

Jean smiles as he speaks, and his deep voice makes the whole world melt.

We do not as a fandom give Cat Alvarez and Laila Dermott enough credit— or we do but we don’t talk about it enough. Like those two girls have done so much for Jean. They took him into their home, and gave him a chance off of credit and faith. But not just that! Never just that. They taught him how to cook, how to do chores like laundry (Jean didn’t even know how to sort clothes!), and what chemicals don’t mix well together— or at all. They paid for nearly every meal, every grocery trip; anything that he needed. Jean even tells us this towards the end of The Golden Raven when he drops the line “It was nice to take this small burden from them.” They have shown him kindness and patience and god they are both just so lovely. Cat is so affectionate with Jean, always giving him hugs and brushing his hair out of his face and giving him light teases when she knows it’s not a touchy subject for him. Laila is a bit more reserved but Jean knocked her in the face on instinct in The Sunshine Court and Laila never held it against him. She didn’t get mad; she didn’t even really get defensive. And she went on to brush his unruly hair for him and approach every topic with caution but consideration. Together they are becoming sisters (who will eventually get married, oops) to Jean in their own ways and rights and just seriously bless Catlaila for being a united front when Jean needs them to be but also two separate pillars of support on their own. Bless Cat for taking Jean on that first bike ride and Laila for understanding how alone Jean feels even when he doesn’t say it. They are so good to and for him and I appreciate them so much.
