DOWNLOAD THE COME TO GRIEF DISCOGRAPHY AT THIS LOCATION In addition, the legendary sludge offshoot has announced its first run of East Coast dates in over a year, beginning Nov. 26 in Brooklyn, NY, with Sunrot, False Gods, etc. before wrapping up Dec. 13 in Portland, ME, with Chepang, Yautja and others. Formed in 1991 by Disrupt guitarist Terry Savastano, GRIEF's style of “extreme doom” was seminal to all things slow, doom, and sludge to follow. For more than a decade, GRIEF would release several albums, EPs, splits and compilations before calling it quits in 2001, despite a couple of reunion attempts. Fast-forward to 2014, Terry’s new version of the pioneering sludge band (including former drummer Chuck Conlon) reactivated before playing their first show as COME TO GRIEF two years later. Since then, the band has toured all over the globe with bands like Eyehategod and The Obsessed, including multiple festival appearances at Roadburn, Maryland Deathfest and Austin Terror Fest, among others. COME TO GRIEF resumed its brand of disgruntled, slow-crawling malevolence with the band's first EP, The Worst of Times, in 2017 and the quickly-followed split with Fistula, Take Me In My Sleep / Contusion. The band' second EP, Pray for the End, was released in 2020 just in time for the pandemic to bring things to a halt. Furthermore, the band recently finished recording its debut album When the World Dies at GodCity Studio with producer and tone wizard Kurt Ballou (High On Fire, Gatecreeper). Australian death metal quintet DESCENT, featuring members of Resin Tomb, Snorlax, etc., are proud to announce their sophomore album Order of Chaos, out January 14, 2022, via Brilliant Emperor Records.
--> LISTEN TO THE DISGUSTING NEW TRACK "RESOLVE" VIA CVLT NATION <--
A tremendous stride forward for DESCENT, and by far their most accomplished work to date, Order of Chaos is a squelching war chest of punishing death metal savagery from the heart of Brisbane, Australia. Recorded by guitarist Brendan Auld, mixed by tone wizard Kurt Ballou, and mastered by the illustrious Brad Boatright, the album's eight tracks are a full-spectrum bedlam of the highest order, just as the glorious Mitchell Nolte artwork breathtakingly hints.
Riffs of inescapable maliciousness fueled by the great traditions of chainsaw artistry reveal gateway altars pounding a primordial blackened fury. Screams sardonically tear at the void, burying your ears in the realization of the severity of your loss of self in eternal torment. Welcome to the ritual of Order of Chaos. Submit, worship, dissolve and disintegrate.
Formed in 2014 with the desire to create a sound influenced by a plethora of sounds falling under the umbrella of extreme and heavy music, DESCENT is a coalition of members from various bands from the under-ground Brisbane scene, including From These Wounds, Resin Tomb, Feculent, Snorlax, and several others. Since the release of the quintet's first demo in 2015, DESCENT has constantly performed throughout Australia, opening for bands like Cattle Decapitation, Dark Funeral, and Code Orange, among many others. The band released its debut album, Towers of Grandiosity, via Redefining Darkness Records in 2018 and toured Japan with The Crown and Origin later that year.
Order of Chaos will be released January 14, 2022, on multiple formats via Brilliant Emperor (vinyl), Redefining Darkness (CDs) and Caligari Records (tapes).

Tumblr media
SOCIETY 1 is proud to announce 2022 dates with Static-X, Fear Factory and Dope, the band’s first outing with their revamped lineup. "I've known and toured with most of these guys in these amazing bands for 20-plus years," says SOCIETY 1 vocalist Matt Zane. "It's unreal we're all getting together in 2022 and still doing it. Really looking forward to getting back out there in support of the new album that DV and I wrote together." The Rise of The Machine Tour celebrates the 20th Anniversary of Static-X’s Gold-certified album Machine (being re-released next year) and will serve as a continuation of their memorial tribute to honor their late singer Wayne Static. Joining the touring lineup will be fellow industrial metal pioneers, Fear Factory and Dope along with special guests Mushroomhead and Twiztid (on select dates). The Rise of the Machine Tour will also celebrate career anniversaries for both Fear Factory and Dope, with Fear Factory celebrating their 30th anniversary as a band and Dope celebrating the anniversary of their cult metal anthem “Die MF Die." He was thrown into the spotlight when he joined SOCIETY 1, and THE ALTERED NOISE chronicles his amazing journey. A huge KISS fan and a wide-eyed Midwesterner whose first time on an airplane was when he went to tour Europe, Dirt found friends and fans everywhere. A talented tattoo artist, he has inked the likes of Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson and Steve-O and his work found its way into SOCIETY 1 merch and album art. SOCIETY 1 will be performing material from their yet-to-be-released new album Black Level Six, including songs from previous albums such as The Sound That Ends Creation, etc. The lineup consisting of Matt Zane (vocals), Jimmy Minj (bass), Zhenya Pro (drums) and Johnny Pilz (guitar) will be back performing together for the first time since the pandemic lockdown. I had seen Dirt play in the band numerous times, so I reached out to him. He told me of his current situation and encouraged me to audition, even going so far as to give me some pointers about the songs and Matts writing style. Thanks to his help, I was brought in as the new SOCIETY 1 bass player, and I certainly have some HUGE shoes to fill!!" PHARMACIST Releases “Carnal  Pollution” via Black Hole Productions
Tumblr media
From the old textbooks of internal medicine and general surgery, Black Hole Productions presents one of its main chapters — Carnal Pollution by Japanese goregrind duo PHARMACIST. As a purulent discharge of advanced gangrene and after a series of great releases, PHARMACIST has quickly established itself as one of the genre's greatest revelations in just one short year. Recorded, mixed, and mastered at VoidLab Studio in Tokyo, Carnal Pollution exudes four unreleased and exclusive miasmas from its repulsive goregrind with the sordid refinements of old-school death metal. Conceived under the coagulated blood of oxidized scalpels, the band manages, like few others, to rescue the main concepts and characteristics of the genre's staple names. If the treatment for your disease requires dosages of Classic Splatter, PHARMACIST has a cure! Essential for fans of '80s Carcass, Pathologist, and Dead Infection. Formed in Japan in early 2020 by "Pharmacist" (guitars, vocals, bass) and "Therapeutist" (drums), PHARMACIST is decomposing old-school grinding death metal. Mainly active as a studio project, the duo released its first EP, Forensic Pathology Jurisprudence, on June 6, 2020, managing to catch the attention of Bizarre Leprous Productions. The band quickly followed up with the release of its full-length debut, Medical Renditions Of Grinding Decomposition, under BLP's wing in August of 2020. Known to be strictly dedicated to music and arrangements, PHARMACIST has enlisted guitarist Andrew Lee (Ripped to Shreds) for solos on the tracks "Disintegration" and "Obsequial Orchestration," expanding the spectre of goregrind to wider extents.

FOUR TRIPS AHEAD Releases Catchy New EP “Remnants” via Dr. Music Records
Tumblr media
“HOLD MY HAND, HOLD MY HEART BEHOLD MY LIFE NOW I STAND, I WON’T BEND IT’S ALRIGHT.” A lyrical declaration taken from "It's Alright," the second single from Remnants, the explosive new EP from FOUR TRIPS AHEAD. Emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic more focused than ever before, the NYC band has taken a firm, uncompromising stance, keeping its unique and poignantly heavy melodic signature sound that marks FOUR TRIPS AHEAD as a force to be reckoned with in modern hard rock. Produced by lead vocalist Peter Wilson, the EP's five tracks were engineered by Nik Chinboukas (Metal Allegiance, Testament, Doyle) at Spin Recording Studios, mixed by Grammy- and Emmy Award-winning engineer Nick Cipriano (Dream Theater, Twisted Sister, Erasure), and mastered by the illustrious Roger Lian (Rush, Slayer, Coheed and Cambria). “We were in a highly creative period, so we rushed into the studio to record so we wouldn't lose the powerful vibes. The five songs had similar urgent themes and were road-tested, so to speak," Wilson shared. "It was impossible not to be inspired by the anger, frustration, and social unrest that we were all witnessing and feeling. As we started mixing, the world turned completely upside down." FOUR TRIPS AHEAD’s roots date back to 2003 when the seasoned New York City musicians first came together in search of a new creative outlet. Instantly, the quartet recognized common musical interests—creating heavy rock sounds with killer melodies and progressive oscillation. The band’s last album, ...And The Fire Within, charted consistently in Metal Contraband’s National Top 50 Radio Charts for eight consecutive weeks, with its highest placement at #34, garnering heavy rotation on American college, commercial, and specialty Hard Rock/Metal radio formats. Moreover, their video for the single "Bring Me Down" debuted on AXS.com to an enthusiastic response and was featured in PROG's summer 2020 new music sampler. FOUR TRIPS AHEAD’s new EP is brimming with electricity, capturing the band’s passion, intensity, memorable songwriting, and bold musicianship, standing apart from much of today's contrived rock releases. Musically, Remnants is daring, dynamic, and demanding—hard rock like it's meant to be played. “Remnants," the title track and first single from FOUR TRIPS AHEAD’s new EP, is available digitally and to stream via Dr. Music Records. You can listen to the EP in its entirety via the DSP of your choice. For updates on FOUR TRIPS AHEAD, please visit—

THECODONTION Releases “The Great Permian-Triassic Extinction Event” Split w/ VESSEL OF INIQUITY
Tumblr media
Italian prehistoric death metal duo THECODONTION and English blackened noise enigma VESSEL OF INIQUITY have announced a new split titled The Permian-Triassic Extinction Event, out Sept. 3 via multiple formats. This conceptual split release is about the titular Permian-Triassic extinction event (commonly known as "The Great Dying"), and life emerging anew afterwards. It occurred approximately 251 million years ago and it was the Earth's most severe extinction event, during which almost all of the marine species, terrestrial vertebrates and insects became extinct. Theories for its cause range from meteor impacts, volcanic eruptions and climate change. THECODONTION's side explores two different creatures which lived after that catastrophic occurrence, thus during the Triassic period: Thecodontosarus antiquus was an ancestral relative to sauropods, Procompsognathus triassicus was a small bipedal carnivorous theropod. VESSEL OF INIQUITY's side is sonically destructive, yet it features an evocative and almost poetic description of the inevitable cataclysm that occurred, putting an end to the Permian period and paving the way for new lifeforms during the Triassic. THECODONTION's side was recorded by Guglielmo Nodari (Bedsore) and mixed and mastered by Marco Salluzzo (Bedsore, Deströyer 666), while VESSEL OF INIQUITY's side was conceived, recorded, engineered, mixed and mastered by A. White. After the critically acclaimed debut full-length Supercontinent, THECODONTION is back with two tracks (both spawned during the album's recording sessions), in which the band is at its most experimental and intricate musical point thus far. Atmospheric, melodic leads and blistering solos alternate with crushing riffs and relentless blasting. VESSEL OF INIQUITY's sole member A. White is a master in audial annihilation and ultra-violence in the form of furious drumming and non-stop slab of harsh noise, behind which lies a vortex of sprawling riffs. After two masterpieces such as Vessel of Iniquity and Void of Infinite Horror, this entity is certainly not holding back regarding musical extremity. Calamitous occurrences such as basalt volcanic eruptions and ocean acidification are beautifully depicted with abstract forms on the cover artwork by Italian artist STRX. The Permian-Triassic Extinction Event will be released Sept. 3 on CD via I, Voidhanger Records, cassette (US) via Dead Red Queen Records and cassette (Taiwan) via Bad Moon Rising. THECODONTION is: G.E.F. – vocals (track 2), songwriting G.D. – bass, lyrics, arrangements Session members on The Permian-Triassic Extinction Event: V.P. – drums Skaðvaldur – vocals (track 1) VESSEL OF INIQUITY is: A. 156/SILENCE Announces Second Album Irrational Pull + Releases New Music Video
Pittsburgh metal/hardcore punishers 156/SILENCE are proud to announce the release of their impending sophomore album Irrational Pull, due out June 5 via self-release.
GET WRECKED WITH NEW VIDEO "IRRATIONAL PULL" HERE
Formed in 2015 in the heart of the Steel City, the Pennsylvanian quartet produces a different type of molten metal — unadulterated metallic hardcore in the vein of Norma Jean, Daughters and Poison the Well. Fronted by Jack Murray, the band embarks on their second album with the dynamic vocalist, who displays more dissonant and emotional feel than predecessors. Produced and recorded by Andy Nelson (Weekend Nachos) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Full of Hell, Gatecreeper), Irrational Pull sees the band embracing their metallic side full-force and with fists swinging. No longer attached to Innerstrength Records, the band is looking to make waves this year independent of any label. 156/SILENCE had plans to hit the road with death metal unit Katabasis for a six-city tour along the East Coast, but the COVID-19 pandemic put an end to that idea. Instead, the band plans to record a series of live sessions that will be distributed throughout the summer. "Irrational Pull is the culmination of everything this band has done since 2015," says guitarist Jimmy Howell. "We've incorporated themes and tones throughout our entire catalog and created what we believe to be our most cohesive work yet."

BOREWORM: Michigan Progressive Death Hive Release New Video For "Drone"
Michigan progressive death hive BOREWORM are proud to unearth their first-ever music video "Drone," streaming now via Metal Injection.
youtube
Prepare for insectile death with the new video for "Drone" here
Formed near Detroit in 2013 by guitarist Michael Bielenda (ex-The Yellow Sign) and conceptualized by a palatial arching science fiction mythos and the brutal atmosphere of cosmic horror, BOREWORM paints an aggressive, yet hauntingly melodic, musical soundscape. The band's music weaves its apocalyptic storyline through a modern death metal exoskeleton, leading to quite a growing fanbase—and its inclusion as the only unsigned band to be a part of Summer Slaughter Festival, where BOREWORM blazed a path of destruction across the US in 2014. Persevering through various strife and personnel changes, the Midwestern death unit holds strong to its unique prophetic vision. After recording their second EP, Entomophobia, with former The Contortionist frontman David Hoffman, the band welcomed original vocalist Nathan Wittock back into the fold in 2019 to resume the legacy forged on BOREWORM's debut album The Black Path. The evolution continues as the band is currently writing and recording the next chapter in the BOREWORM narrative, Predatory Bilocation.

PANZRAM: Texas Blackened Industrial Dealers Release New Video For "Long Shadows"
Featuring former ABSU bassist Ezezu, something lurks from the plains...
Texas blackened industrial outfit PANZRAM — featuring former Absu bassist Ezezu — has released its latest video for "Long Shadows," taken from the band's third album War Drums For Dreary Scum.
Sink to the rankest depths with "Long Shadows" here
Named after serial killer Carl Panzram (1891-1930), the duo exists solely to create a truly terrifying and abyssic sound through a combined effort between multi-instrumentalists Ezezu and Hexx. While the sound can be quite diverse, PANZRAM's roots lie in the chaos of black metal with its ethos not defined by predecessors. Instead, the band interprets the nuances and traditions of the genre into a greater sense of disillusion and mania.
Formed in Canada in 1991 under the name "Arkadia," the band released two demos and recorded its debut full-length before relocating to the landfills of the Texas Panhandle in late 2004. PANZRAM's debut White Silence was released in 2006, and the band performed several local shows before Ezezu joined USBM pioneers Absu in 2008. The band was on ice for close to a decade before Ezezu struck flame to iron and resumed activities in 2015 after Absu's schedule waned. Hexx, the producer of Arkadia's demos, was invoked as an official member shortly thereafter, and the duo recorded Cyanide Overdrive in 2018. The band's third album, War Drums For Dreary Scum, was released in December to bring PANZRAM back to its original intention of releasing music each year.
With the unconventional duo augmenting disorder, the arsonists prepare their fourth album Black Hearted Battery, slated for release sometime October 2020.
FFO: Ministry, Bethlehem, Mysticum, Skinny Puppy, Darkthrone

DOPELORD Release Fourth Album “Sign Of The Devil”
Tumblr media
Polish stoner/doom quartet DOPELORD is proud to announce the release of their fuzz-laden fourth album Sign Of The Devil, out now via Green Plague Records.
JOIN HANDS AND ORDER SIGN OF THE DEVIL HERE
Recorded, mixed and mastered by Haldor Grunberg (Behemoth), the album continues the band's mantra of "tune slow, play slow" by conjuring illicit sounds through low-end occult bangers like "The Witching Hour Bell" and "Hail Satan," while the Poles experiment with more somber tracks like "Doom Bastards," which weave a spell of their own with Satan-worshipping psychedelia. The album's heathenistic artwork was drawn by Fabian Staniec of Pathogen Tattoo Workshop.
Founded in Lublin in late 2010, the stoner quartet honed their craft with a relentless onslaught of smoking, rehearsing, and touring through a haze of groove and psychedelia. Inspired by cult classics, 70's music, and magical herbs, DOPELORD released its debut Magick Rites in 2012 followed by Black Arts, Riff Worship & Weed Cult in 2014. After a split with Major Kong two years later, the doom miscreants returned with 2017's critically-acclaimed Children of the Haze before unleashing an epic four-way split with Spaceslug, Weedpecker, and Major Kong early last year.

COME TO GRIEF Release New EP “Pray for the End” + Announce New Bassist
Tumblr media
New England-based sludge legends COME TO GRIEF are pleased to announce the release of their second EP Pray for the End, out now via Grievance Records, as well as the addition of bassist Randy Larsen (ex-Cable, ex-Isis). Fast-forward to 2014, Terry’s new version of the band (including former drummer Chuck Conlon) reactivated before playing their first show as COME TO GRIEF two years later. Now, the band is proud to present its ugliest output yet, Pray for the End. Recorded by Eric Sauter (Fistula, Boghaunter), the three-track EP speaks further for the downtrodden and those likely to succumb to the miserable existence known as life.

Recorded in London by Sam Thredder (Slapdragger) a few days after the band's appearance at the 2019 Roadburn Festival, this completely improvised six-track EP fuses noise rock, d-beat, doom, and post-punk into a weirdo hybrid. "The Fake Grape Sessions were written and recorded live, on the fly," says frontman Jay Gambit, known for his collaborations with extreme metal acts Dragged into Sunlight, Culted, and Bandit. "No refunds." Tortured and broken, CROWHURST is a shapeshifter in extreme music; from noise to drone, sludge to black metal. Each piece of music is its own distinct page in Gambit's story, working as an exploration and expression of pain. With contributing pieces from scores of renowned artists, CROWHURST stands as a testament to his ability to weave ethereal, engaging soundscapes without falling into the trap which befalls many prolific artists – predictability. Over 75 releases, many of which are singles and splits with other established artists, yet each body of work remains a dynamic, disorienting exploration unlike the last. Gambit's music takes influence from varying genres across decades while being shaped by his love affair with cinema and documentaries. Each release tells its own story, with each song standing as its own character unfolding. Beginning as a strictly-experimental project, CROWHURST grew to encompass various collaborations with artists and producers, such as Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Oathbreaker), who engineered and produced 2015's I album. The follow-up, 2016's II, was recorded in Manchester, England, and produced at Machines With Magnets (The Body, Daughters). CROWHURST finalized their trilogy with III, co-written and performed by Andy Curtis-Brignell (Caïna), recorded with the legendary producer/engineer Kurt Ballou (Converge, Full of Hell) at God City Studios, and released via Prophecy Productions in 2019. The effort features guest appearances from Tony Wakeford (Sol Invictus, Crisis), Ethan Lee McCarthy (Primitive Man), and Tara Vanflower (Lycia, Type O Negative) amongst a handful of other notable musicians. FFO: Total Control, Impalers, Wipers, Meat Puppets, etc.

ANDE Announces Forthcoming New Album “Vossenkiul”
Tumblr media
Belgian black metal nihilist ANDE is releasing his upcoming third album Vossenkuil, dropping April 3 via self-release. Formed in 2015, the Bilzen-based project practices despondent black metal with a very raw and atmospheric sensibility. ANDE—an Old English word for anger, pain and hatred—is the solo effort of multi-instrumentalist Jim Christiaens, who contorts the beauty of nature and the memories of the long-forgotten into a blazing, sometimes ethereal, chasm of an unrepentant blackened scourge. Recorded, mixed, and mastered at Studio Jupiter in Belgium, Vossenkuil is the culmination of Christiaens' varying influences, which include second-wave black metal, post-metal and folk. FFO: Agalloch, Wolves in the Throne Room, Altar of Plagues, Year Of No Light ANDE is: Jim Christiaens – everything https://ande-be.bandcamp.com/ https://andeband.wordpress.com/ https://www.facebook.com/Ande-1656865081244578/

KVAEN Releases Debut Album “The Funeral Pyre”
Tumblr media
Black Lion Records is proud to present the debut album by Swedish black metal newcomer KVAEN. Shrouded in darkness and violence, the pragmatic musician's debut album The Funeral Pyre is due out Feb. 28. Walking the path of flesh and bone, KVAEN was formed in 2018 as the solo project of Jakob Björnfot (The Duskfall, Autumn Death) to create torrid black metal with an infernal Hadean offensive. The Funeral Pyre is eight tracks, clocking in around 40 minutes, that put a knife to the throat of any nonbeliever of heretic black metal. Charged by diabolic melodies and whiplash aggression, Björnfot's debut explores the thrashy beginnings of '80s speed and pagan metal while breathing the vision of the Viking age—steel, death, and Ragnarök. Joined by an assortment of session musicians including Sebastian Ramstedt (Necrophobic, ex-Exhumed), Matthew Wicklund (Ghost Ship Octavius, ex-God Forbid) and Perra Karlsson (In Aeternum, ex-Deströyer 666), the album takes the listener for a wild ride through the barren wastelands of northern Sweden and combines all of Björnfot's influences into a seamless ode to the blackened forefathers of yore. FFO: Spectral Wound, Necrophobic, Sun of the Sleepless, Dissection KVAEN is: Jakob Björnfot – vocals, guitars, bass, keyboards Session musicians on The Funeral Pyre: Pierre Törnkvist – lyrics and vocals (“Yee Naaldlooshii” and “Septem Peccata Mortalia”) Sebastian Ramstedt – guitar solo (“The Funeral Pyre”) Matthew Wicklund – first guitar solo (”Hymn to Kvenland”) Perra Karlsson – drums (“Bestial Winter” and “Revenge By Fire”) Freddy Ortscheid – drums (“Septem Peccata Mortalia,” “As We Serve The Masters Plan” and “The Funeral Pyre”) Danni Lyse Jelsgaard – drums (“Yee Naaldlooshii”) Tommi Tuhkala – drums (“The Wolves Throne” and “Hymn to Kvenland”) Web Links: https://www.facebook.com/OFFICIALKVAEN https://kvaen.bandcamp.com https://www.facebook.com/blacklionrecordsswe https://twitter.com/blacklionrecswe https://www.instagram.com/blacklionrecordsswe Press: "...melodic black metal with such verve and venom that it sounds as fresh as when it first emerged from the primordial forests." - Angry Metal Guy "For those of you devoted to the power of the unholy riff..." – Decibel Magazine "Kvaen's 'The Funeral Pyre' is addictive, fiery evil"  - Invisible Oranges "an absolute banger..." - Metal Injection “The music is gloriously vibrant” – No Clean Singing “Every damn song is born a classic, every note is pure gold.” – Black Metal Daily
