"So, you're saying you're not?" he asks looking at the cigarette on his fingers, he wasn't judging or anything like that, mostly joking, "I should really cut it, not good for your voice, you know? not that it matters any more," he trails off, shrugging his shoulders. "Nice to meet you too, Thanks, my parents really outdid themselves, huh?" Axel jokes. "Sorry to hear that," Axel nods, "Yup, been kind of a shitty day for the last year, y'know?"
Vale would have been surprised if the other man denied him a cigarette since he’d asked him to join him, but it was still nice that he gave him one. Leaned in toward the man, Vale let him light his cigarette and then took a drag, leaning back against the wall and letting out a puff of smoke. “Yeah, I see why people get addicted to this,” Vale said, already feeling more relaxed. This was another reason Vale needed to just quit, so he didn’t get addicted. “Nice to meet you too, Axel,” Vale replied. “Cool name by the way.”
For a minute or so, Vale just stood there smoking his cigarette, letting his mind recover from his terrible day. “Kind of both I guess,” he answered. “What about you? Shitty say for you too?” It seemed like that might be the case.

"Please what good does it do to work in a place like this if I can't offer some pretty faces a free drink?"he laughs a little, maybe it wasn't a first he had offered some drinks... Ax watches them as they take a sit next to him, he's usually teasing smile still in the corner of his lips, "I mean aren't you the one that's always patching me up? how many times have you played witchy nurse for me since I got here?" he askes, as he playfully bumps their shoulder, "Though, I'm sure you've got some other ways to make people better," he winks, "I'm very good at that too, just so you know."
"Yeah, how are you liking it? the town, I mean?" he takes a drag fom the cigarret. "That's why I'm here. Lady was driving me crazy, Got outside before I start yelling, see I did learn something!"
" No." Elian replies." But I would like to think that you would be smarter than to offer drinks on your salary but if you insist then who am I to say no." They sit down next to Axel." A free drink is a free drink after all."
The witch takes out their golden case, picking one of their cigarettes." I'm not making fun of you, I say it with the utmost care for you." Elian glances over towards him, a smile resting lazily on their lips." Is that so? Do I always make things better?" They shrugs their shoulders." I guess I have that way about myself."
Elian offers their cigarette for Axel to light." Oh you know, work and getting to know the town. It seems living my flyer around actually turned out to be a good idea. I started getting more calls for odd jobs."
"What about yourself? Staying out of trouble I hope."

Axel watches her as she moves, a smirk in the corner of his lips, as she looks at the name tag on his shirt,"Well, fuck," he chuckles a little, "Only when I'm briding people? where I was thinking I am a charming guy, with a pretty smile in general!"
"Nice to mee you, Addie , Waffle girl?" Axel let's out another chuckle, "Aw, come on baby, I think you deserve a little more than waffle girl,"he says winking at her as he rests against the wall, taking a drag from his cigarret, "How about me? what will you know me as? Axel with the pretty smile?" he can't help to tease.
Addie chuckled, low and warm, as she plucked a cigarette from the pack and tucked it between her fingers like second nature. “Well, Axel.” She murmured, glancing at the name tag as she pulled an old Zippo from her jacket pocket. The lighter clicked open with a practiced flick, flame catching at the tip before she snapped it shut again. “You got a decent smile when you’re bribing people with waffles. I’ll give you that.”
She took a drag, eyes drifting out over the cracked pavement and dumpsters lining the back lot—the kind of place that always smelled faintly like fryer oil and rain, even when it hadn’t stormed in days. There was a quiet comfort to it, in its own way... Familiar. “The name's Addie; but you can just call me 'Waffle Girl'."

"What, you think I'm that fucking broke?" Axel raises an eyebrow, though theres a playfull tone on his voice, "Besides, I won't tell , if you won't tell," he winks playfully. "Hey don't make fun of me! There was a woman in there about to make me fucking crazy, first the coffee was too cold, then it was too hot, what the fuck does She wants and why do always get the annoying people?" He rants on , rolling his eyes, he looks over at the witch, "But my good friend Elian is here now, and they always know how to make me feel better, " he teases, a bit of Smart ass smirk on the corner of his lips.
"You know I'm a man of my word, after the I finish this,"meaning the cigarret, "And am cool enough not to yell at a lady, we'll come in and get you that drink," he grins, "So, what you've been up to?"
" Can you even offer a free drink? Doesn't that come out of your salary Axel?" Elian ask him stopping next to him. "Oh, you poor soul, suffering all by yourself, so sad." The witch shrugs their shoulders it wasn't as if they had anything better to do, their plans were wide open.
" I can make you company if you make due on that free drink, I'm never one to pass on such an opportunity."

"I think I can squeeze in some free waffles, you are a regular in this place, and besides boss is always telling me I need to be nicer and smile more," not that he was ever rude, it was moslty the not wanting to get into trouble a guy with anger issues working a job where he had to deal with so many people could lead to a couple of problems, "Not that I ever would have problem being nice to you by the way," he says giving her a playfull wink.
"Sure, I'm always happy to share," he nods his head, reaching over to the cigarrets pack and reaching it for her to take one, "So, I've seen you around a couple of times, but I don't think I ever got your name," he points at the name tag on his shirt, "I'm Axel."
Addie smirked, folding her arms as she leaned against the doorframe of Old Mill. “Free drink, huh? Upgrade it to free pecan waffles or no deal." She teased, a knowing grin tugging at her lips. She'd quickly become a regular at the Diner since her return to Cardinal Hill. She used to frequent the place after dance rehearsals for a waffle the size of her head topped with candied pecans—a guilty pleasure. And since her return, the Diner felt like a little corner of normal she could still count on.
With a casual shake of her head, she stepped closer, brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “Nah, I’ll take the drink... But you gotta share the smoke.” Sliding onto the bench beside him, she settled in like an old friend, ready to commiserate about the usual chaos of cranky customers and long shifts—even if she honestly only knew the guy as one of the more reliable waitstaff. Honestly, without looking directly at his nametag, she had no idea what his name even was.

"Yeah, probably a pat in the back and a attaboy" he chuckles, shaking his head, it was not like his boss hated him, or that he sucked at his job , he just tended to slack off a little and sneak out to smoke whenever he could. "Thanks, there's a lady in there thats driving me fucking crazy" he shakes his head.
"Hey," Axel looks over at the bills, deciding to take them, not that he wouldn't let it slide, but he had his pride and he was sure Jamie would too, "I told you you don't have to worry about that, man, are you sure you not gonna need it? 'Cause we can wait a little longer, I mean, the Diner is doing pretty good" he shrugs a bit, "What about the asshole who bailed on you? Did you give them some... Words? That was kinda of a shitty move."

"You think your boss will give me a good boy gold star sticker if I snitch on you?" Jamie teased, lightly shoving Axel's shoulder and taking a seat in one of the crates next to him. He nodded at the offer for a smoke. "Yeah, sure." He was the last person in the world to judge what Axel decided to do on his downtime at work. Hell, he did the same shit working at the gas station. Jamie was there for a reason, though. He passed Axel a rolled up wad of bills totaling to ten dollars. "Paying you back, like I promised," he said with a smirk. Jamie always had money to pay for his own food when he came to the diner, but the last time, someone he'd agreed to meet up with ran up the bill and left him without enough to cover for both. He was grateful Axel had spotted him at the time, letting him save face, and now he was paying him back. Jamie may have been a lot of things, and he certainly lied when it served him, but he never broke his word when he gave it. That was different.

Axel nods as the other comes close, he's glad at least most people are nice, the last thing he needs is to get into another fight and in his work place would probablly mean double the trouble, "Sure," he says, then reaching inside his pocket, he grabs the lighter and lights Vale's cigarret, "Vale, nice to meet you, I'm Axel" he reaches out his hand for a shake, "Were you going in to grab some food?" He asks, gesturing with his head to the Diner, "Or just causually also having a shitty day?" He half jokes.
Vale knew that he shouldn't. He didn't drink or do drugs, nothing that would impair his reactions or judgment, not since...well, since it had gone very, very wrong. But smoking was the one vice Vale sometimes indulged in. He was trying to quit, and the truth was that if he really wanted to, he could have - Vale didn't have an addictive personality, and he'd never felt the thrall of nicotine as much as people who actually smoked regularly. Still, Vale knew that it was like playing with fire - sooner or later, he wouldn't have such an easy time avoiding it. Still, it had been a shit day, and what did he really care anyway? His health and wellbeing hadn't been at the top of his priority list for a long time now. So he approached the man, nodding and saying, "Sure, I'll have a smoke, though I'll need to bum one off of you." He took a cigarette from the man and stuck it in his mouth, leaning closer for the man to light it. "My name is Vale," he told him, his voice slightly muffled by the cigarette between his lips.

"Yeah, yeah I know," he sighs, looking down at his knuckles, bruised and dry blood still stuck on them, he was a little embarrased by that display of violence, but it as not like he was gonna admit to it. "I may have gotten a little carrired away, but you know, I just hate fuckers who can't respect a lady like you," wasn't exactly a lie, but it also wasn't exactly the reason he went so hard on the guy.
"Good, 'cause a lady like you deserves a lot better, maybe that's not even me, (even though I'm way better looking than he was, by the way)the point is, you don't take someone on a date and then just fuck off, God knows where and get angry when someone tries to offer them a drink" he rants on, only stoping as she comes close, Axel's eyes focus on her, as he tried not to flinch to the tissue being placed on his lip. "That's what the cool kids call it," he shrugs, "I'm not drunk," he's quick to say, unsure why thats even relevant, "but I know its a fucking stupid idea, since anger and alchool do not match well togther... But I never said I was smart and huh, yeah, that and a lot more other... Issues."
"I know he started it, and that's why he's going home alone tonight." Though, he would have gone home alone regardless. "I wouldn't expect you not to defend yourself," Ney said then, as she came to take a seat on the curb beside him, "but I counted four punches. Four?" Her brows lifted, as she pointed this out. "One, two.. sure, but the other two were overkill, especially when he was already on his back."
All she was saying was, the guy had done a little more than just defending himself.
"Don't worry about it," Ney brushed off the concern for her date, "he was a poor excuse of one, anyway. And yeah, I agree." He was an asshole. "He was good at hiding that side of him, so really, you did me a favor." Maybe that was why she was even still there, making sure he was okay. With a sigh, she shifted to face him more. "Come here," Ney took the tissue to his bloody mouth herself to dab it up, since he wanted to play like he was too tough to take care of himself. Men. They could be so ridiculous sometimes. She was quiet a moment, studying the bruising at his mouth as she cleaned his chin, before asking, "Anger issues, hm?" Made sense, though. She didn't know him and could sense the tension off him. "Is that why you were drinking tonight?" she wondered.

In his defence, Axel had no clue the woman had a date, had he known, he wouldn't had hit on her, She was... A looker for sure and he was an asshole sure, but he wasn't that much of an asshole, you just don't meddle in someone else's date! But it was not his fault the guy decied to go fuck knows where and left the woman on her own, besides he wasn't sure and he wasn't disrespectful to her, all he wanted was to ask her if She wanted a drink and all the sudden the asshole was on him! What was he to do? Take it and don't hit back?
And now here he was, like the sad fuck he had been the last months, sitting on the floor bleeding, "Good going, Ax,another night, another fight!" He thinks to himself. He looks up as the woman speaks, "He started it!" Axel ponted out, "I wasn't just gonna let him puch me and not do anything!" He huffs, trying to fix the mess that was his hair, "Yeah, you should see the other guy," he jokes, "I'll be fine," he says taking his hand to his bleeding lip, "I'm sorry. I didn't know you had a date. He's a asshole by the way. Who lashes out like that? And this comes form the guy with the anger issues!"
@cardinalaxelwright
"No, you can go home now," Ney pointed at the man that had been her date tonight, shooing him off like he was no better than a child. Because he had certainly behaved as such. He might as well lose her number after that display.
Though, in truth, the woman had decided less than five minutes into their encounter tonight that they weren't suited. He grinded his teeth, and failed to open the car door. Not to mention, his tie was crooked the entire time. It was literally the only thing Ney could notice, any time she had to look at him, and her fingers itched to correct it. But even if all of those things hadn't been a deal breaker, the way he overreacted to another random gentleman casually hitting on her, certainly was. This was their first time out together, and he had flown completely off the handle like she was property, to the point where both men had actually thrown punches.
So, now her date (and ride) had marched angrily away and she was left with the person she hadn't arrived with. Ney was less annoyed with him, though, because she was fairly certain he'd been three sheets to the wind and unaware she hadn't come alone.
"And you," Ney demanded as she approached where he was miserably sat at the curb, "what the hell was that? Why are you fighting with some guy you don't even know?" She sighed, digging into her purse briefly, before suddenly holding out a tissue. Frustrated with the night's events. "You're bleeding."

"Didn't know I had an audience," Axel says as he looks up from the guitar, he had just been sitting there, playing his music, too focused to even see the person watching him, the song was an orginal, maybe a little too angry with some harsh words to his ex.
Gently placing the guitar down on his lap, he looks up at the other, "So? what you think?"he asks patting on the park bench for the other to sit next to him,"It's an orginal."

The las thing he needed was to Run into Lucian, but well, here they were, "God fucking damn it," Ax muttered under his breath as he noticed the other, he had forgotten Lucian worked here, of course the jerk had to work at his favorite place to go! He just wanted to relax and see it they had any new records, but of course relaxing was not on the universe plans for him. "Before you start any shit, I forgot you worked here... I'm not trying to get you fired, got better things to do with my time, it just so happen that you work in my favorite place in town, so don't get on your high house, you're the last thing on my mind, trust, baby."

Sitting outside in the back of the Diner, Axel was just having a smoke, it was not really time for his break but the costumers were starting to drive him insane. As he hears the footseps he looks up, "If you don't tell my boss I'm slacking off I'll give you a free drink" he offers looking up at the other. "Or... Wanna join me? Its always a lot more fun to suffer with some company" he half jokes, he wasn't exactly suffering, but he wasn't exactly happy, now was he?
