6, 10, and 17 for ur rook and their LI!
6. What is their favorite thing to do together? Do they share any hobbies? Does your Rook teach their partner their own hobbies? Does the partner teach Rook theirs?
Neither Will nor Neve is very big on hobbies, I think, and they're sort of opposites in their comfort zones: Neve loves the busyness of Docktown and watching the ocean, whereas Will is most comfortable in the wilderness and HATES large bodies of water. They still bring each other to their favourite spots, of course, and enjoy each other's contentment more than the place itself (it's a long time before Will admits just how much he hates water). But they work really well together, and teach each other a bit about their respective skills. They probably end up doing puzzles together in their down time, which... isn't really far removed from work, but try telling those two to shut their brains off for five whole seconds and see how that goes for ya.
10. Do they have any nicknames for each other? Who uses terms of endearment more?
Well Neve's got the canonical "Trouble" for Will -- which he loves, btw. Will... isn't really a nickname sort of person. If her name weren't already a single syllable he might shorten it, but as is, he just calls her by name.
17. What is your Rook's favorite thing about their partner? What is the partner's favorite thing about Rook?
Will is attracted to competence more than anything else. He loves watching Neve work, and also loves the view he gets following her around Docktown. That bit where you kiss Neve and get interrupted but then she gets an idea and takes off? He was really, really frustrated with the interruption, but also found her detective instinct super hot.
Neve loves that although he's very stoic and quiet, there are lots of little ways he shows that he cares about everyone around him: petting every cat, dropping a coin in every tin, stepping between someone and a busy street, offering a steadying hand on difficult terrain. She watches him quietly watch out for everyone and melts.

Questions for your Rook and their partner:
Does your Rook fall for their partner at first sight? If not, what moment made your Rook realize they're in love with them?
When does the partner realize that they're in love with Rook?
How long does it take for them to officially get together? Did any of the other Lighthouse members have any suspicions beforehand?
Do your Rook and their partner share the same faction? If so, does that affect their relationship at all? If not, what is your Rook's opinion of their partner's faction? What is the partner's opinion of Rook's faction?
Do they have different cultural backgrounds (e.g. a Rook who was raised in Antiva with Harding who was raised in Ferelden)? If so, do they ever share parts of their culture with each other? If they're similar, how do they celebrate their culture together?
What is their favorite thing to do together? Do they share any hobbies? Does your Rook teach their partner their own hobbies? Does the partner teach Rook theirs?
Are they a physically affectionate couple? Are they fine displaying those affections in public or do they prefer to be in private? If they're not, how do they prefer to show their love instead?
What does their ideal date look like? Do they go on much?
Does your Rook bring them out often? How are they like on the battlefield? Do they banter much?
Do they have any nicknames for each other? Who uses terms of endearment more?
Who says "I love you" first? What is the other's reaction? Who thinks it first?
Any inside jokes?
What song(s) do you associate with them?
Does your Rook get their partner any other gifts (besides the one already in-game)? Does the partner get Rook any? Any gifts that are particularly special?
What was the partner's reaction to Rook being imprisoned in the Fade? How did they cope? How did they react upon seeing Rook again?
How did your Rook react to getting trapped in the Fade and separated from their partner?
What is your Rook's favorite thing about their partner? What is the partner's favorite thing about Rook?
When all is said and done, where would they like to retire together? Is marriage in the cards for them? Children? Pets?

So am I the only one who's like. Inordinately upset about Veilguard changing the party size.
Like, it's such a little thing. It doesn't really matter. But it's also sort of... a general indicator of the lack of consistency with previous games. Dragon Age has had a four-person party for 3 games now, and suddenly game 4, which overall does its best to wipe the slate clean of just about everything we've come to expect in a Dragon Age game, has a three-person party.
Which means right off the bat that you're more limited in your companion options if you're trying to keep a balanced party. (It means you CAN'T have a balanced party in the beginning of the game unless you're a warrior.) It means you get fewer banter and dialogue options at any given time. It means no more of the extra companion chiming in on someone else's conversation.
It's such a little thing. It doesn't really matter. But it just feels different. And it's just one more way that Veilguard is disconnected from everything that came before.

Oh also the book where learning correct forms of address for the nobility is a plot point, but other than the times when you're tested on it, everybody uses the wrong addresses all the time.

Other highlights of the writers for this app being woefully ignorant include a description of lawyers from NYC enjoying a peaceful country retreat where the only night sounds are the wind in the leaves, and... literally every single description of anything that happens in New Orleans.

When I was a kid watching Cinderella, I never understood the bit where she names the new mouse "Octavian. But for short, well call you Gus." Like, how on EARTH is Gus short for Octavian?
It wasn't until I randomly re-watched as an adult that I realized that Gus is short for Augustus. Octavian Augustus. The emperor.

Emmrich: You are on Nevarran soil, sir. There are no slaves here.
Also Emmrich, about five seconds later: As for the Venatori... What's left of them will be put to work.

On that note I also kinda wish that whatever you say, like, has any impact on future dialogue whatsoever. Usually that sort of scene is meant to establish character traits for later use, but as far as I can tell this game does not do that. So instead our only option to roleplay in an RPG is to... stand in an empty room talking to yourself.
Kinda wish Veilguard dialogue didn't assume an elf Rook is Dalish. It'd be really nice to be able to say "idk man I'm a city elf" whenever this god nonsense comes up.
(I'm currently playing as Zevran and Haleth's ward, whom Zevran forcibly rescued from the Crows when she was a kid, and who joined the Wardens after they left to find a cure for the Calling.)

.... Seriously? Wow. I intentionally skipped the option to say that my tattoos were important to elves so I did not get that bit.

A Meal
When Harding came into the kitchen, Lucanis was dicing meat, with bundles of fresh herbs and one bowl of berries strewn about the table around him.
"Hey, Lucanis," she said, digging out the picnic basket. "Did you go shopping?"
"No. Rook brought this," he gestured at the assemblage with his knife, doing his best to ignore the unholy combination of foods Harding was building into sandwiches and stuffing into the basket. "I'm not even sure where he got it all. He just dropped it off in the pantry without a word."
"Oh, he does that when he needs to think. He'll just disappear into the forest for a couple of hours and then come back with the makings of a meal and a plan."
"Is that where he goes?" Neve asked, strolling into the kitchen with the now familiar clink clunk, clink clunk of her uneven steps. She reached for the coffee beans, but Lucanis had already washed his hands to head her off. He gently took them from her and began to prepare the coffee himself. "I thought about following him, but I didn't think I could pull it off. He's quick when he wants to be."
The door opened again and Bellara hurried in. "Sorry!" she said when she caught sight of Harding. "I haven't had time to make dinner yet. Rook stopped by my room and asked a bunch of questions about--" She stopped short when she noticed the picnic basket. "Oh! You... You made dinner?" she asked nervously. "You didn't have to do that."
"Don't worry about it," Harding said. "I heard you and Rook talking, so I threw some things together."
"That was... nice," Bellara said carefully, then looked around, taking in the rest of the kitchen. She brightened. "Oh, are you cooking?" she asked Lucanis hopefully. "Maybe we should eat with everyone. Have our picnic another time, when I can make you something special."
"Don't worry," Harding said again. "I've got everything we need right here." She patted the picnic basket, then shouldered it. "Ready to go?"
"Yeah, I... Yeah," Bellara sighed, resigned. Lucanis and Neve shared a look. "We'll see you guys later."
"We'll save you some," Neve promised.
