Yas Super Street Challenge 2019: The Show Continues
The drag strip at the Yas Marina Circuit will be the host again to the sound of the thunder of street machines with the return of UAE’s best urban racing series, the Yas Super Street Challenge, in 2019.

Last year, Yas Marina Circuit had partnered with PKE Gulf WLL that oversaw the advanced timing technology that was installed throughout the Circuit’s custom-built drag strip.
The technology that was implemented, thanks to the partnership with PKE, enhanced the drivers’ drag experiences by letting competitors record their timings using state-of-the-art timing technology.
Last Year’s Yas Super Street Challenge saw more than 40 modified cars battle it out at the drag strip of Yas Marina Circuit. Bublik Olena and Yousef Mohamed Yousef won the respective overall crowns, with the former becoming the competition’s first Queen of the Street. The field took home a gross value of Dh 1,32,000 of cash prizes. The series had begun in mid-January and saw competitors go head-to-head in five categories, amongst which was an exciting 4x4 face-off. Both the winners had entered into the final round leading their categories – Olena in the Open rankings and Yousef in the 4x4 standings.

The timing kit upgrade was very timely as drag racing has been steadily becoming popular all over the UAE. Yas Marina Circuit had witnessed a growth in their homegrown drag racing championship, Yas Super Street Challenge, with competitor numbers increasing by 75 per cent since the inaugural series.
Just like the success of 2019, the first rounds of 2019 brought together a number of the est urban racers in UAE in their street racing machines to battle it out on the purpose-built drag strip of the Yas Marina Circuit in five different categories: ‘4x4 Super Street SUV’; ‘Index 9.0’; ‘Index 10.5’; ‘Index 11.5’; and ‘Super Street’.
Yas Super Street Challenge provides a professional racing atmosphere for prices that are at grassroot levels, along with a host of cash prizes to be won, this season looks to be even more exciting than 201i8. The cost of entry is only 420 AED per driver, and with access to the pit lane for support crews costing only 110 AED, this season’s experience is unique and affordable too.
Those who prefer to cheer for their favourite racer from the grandstand are welcome, with the entry priced at only 55 AED, and only 30 AED for students carrying a valid student ID. The on-track excitement will be accompanied by a variety of on-site beverage and food options to choose from, and some great music as well.
For 265 AED, VIP tickets to the Yas Super Street Challenge are also available, and they also offer access to VIP parking as well. VIP tickets give spectators the best viewing seats in the house, which is the drag paddock area.
