The article describes my leadership at the Immigrant Student Support Initiative (ISSI) at Queens College. The ISSI provides bilingual services, legal aid, and a safe space for immigrant and undocumented students. Since its inception, the initiative has assisted over 1000 students, helping them save significant amounts through financial aid, scholarships, and internship opportunities.

Immigrant Student Support Initiative: Welcome video In 2024, I assumed leadership of the Immigrant Student Support Initiative at Queens College, providing support to over 500 immigrant students from June 2024 to January 2025.
Other responsibilities in this role include:
Providing guidance to Queens College offices and staff on updated resources for the immigrant community on campus.
Developing strategies to promote opportunities such as scholarships, professional development, and legal support.
Overseeing educational resources like The Dream.US Scholarship and the Hispanic Federation Dream Fund.
Organizing and participating in events that benefit the immigrant community (State Aid Support, Know your Rights, I stand with Immigrants Day of Action)
Creating a communication strategy to promote these resources through campus-wide communication, the ISSI newsletter, and ISSI social media platforms.

On 2024, I had the opportunity to share my story as an immigrant student in the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the CUNY Citizenship Now! new office at Queens College. Start a new life in a new country has been one of the most difficult experiences of my life. I began my life project away from my immediate family and friends, with no work network in my career as a Comms Consultant, but with the hope of gradually maturing and having the opportunity to show my skills and commitment to Communication and Advocacy. CUNY Citizenship's assistance in tracking my migration process has been invaluable, and I hope that their assistance can reach more people in New York.
