The Life of Carl Edsel Guevarra

I was born on a warm,sunny day in the 26th day of October 1998 at Banilad,Nasugbu Batangas. I am the precious gift and blessing of the everlasting love of Edgardo Guevarra and Roselle Dime. I am the eldest child of their six lovable children, I have four beautiful sisters and one cute little brother. When I was nine month old baby, I was separated from my parents and my grandmother took care of me since I am their first grandchild and until now, my grandma sent me to school and support all my needs. I am Carl Edsel D. Guevarra, a 20-year old boy who wants to be a successful teacher someday. A man who is striving hard to achieve his goals despite of the problems and challenges he encounter. I took my elementary education at Sabang Elementary School where I have been first honor since Kindergarten up to Grade Six. I graduated elementary being the class Valedictorian. Then, I took my high-school education at Banilad National Highschool and I can say that highschool memories were the best. I am an Achiever when I've graduated highschool. My favorite subject since I was elementary is Mathematics so I want to become Math Teacher someday. After graduation, I've stopped going to school because of financial problem. My father died when I was 3rd year highschool because of his diabetes and that starts our family to suffer financial crisis. It is very hard losing a father but as an eldest son, I tried my best to be a father to my siblings. I've worked for almost one year in Water station wherein this is the business my Auntie owned. I supported my siblings to their schooling for almost a year as a help to my mother who is working as housewife somewhere in Cavite. I cannot save money that time because all the money I earned was spent on our daily expenses. And fortunately in God's will, I am here today. Thank you for the scholarship that was offered to me because this made me enrolled in college. I am currently a third year student, taking up Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English. Although my passion is to become a Math Teacher, I have no choice since English only was offered by the institution. But today I am.enjoying my studies with English as the area of specialization. It is almost 3 semesters left before I receive my diploma that will prove that I am a bachelor degree holder.Since first year college, I have been a Deanslister in our department. The unforgettable moment for me is when I got the First rank in the whole CTE department during my first year, second semester. It serves as a motivation to pursue my dreams confidently and wholeheartedly. I've never imagined this time will come. I am studying college despite of all the problems and challenges our family facing off. I am very grateful to my supportive grandmother and to my mother. It can never deny the fact that there are people who let us down, instead of helping us to lift up,they want us to be down more. I want to prove those people that I can. Being poor is not a hindrance to achieve success. According to what my professor said in our Philosophy class, Life is not beautiful without a problem so put God as the center of our lives. I have faith to Lord that I can pursue my goals and dreams and help my family according to his glory. That is me, that is my life.
