Silas Girls Academy is the most prestigious prep school on the east coast. The rules for students are strict, but the rules for teachers are just as stringent. Carmilla has learned to follow them the hard way - by breaking a few. However, after five years, she doesn’t struggle to keep in line.

That all changes when Laura Hollis shows up.

Paper Cranes and Blistered Fingers 

Laura Hollis, on the drive to her 3rd year at Silas University accidentally crashes into Carmilla Karnstein. Laura, being the giant ball of stress she is, rushes the woman to the hospital. Carmilla insists she is okay, but Laura thinks otherwise, as does the nurse helping them in the ER. They eventually make their way to their initial destinations, but it will not be the last time they see each other….

Carmilla could feel her eyebrows skyrocket as Laura put out her bare hand for a handshake. No gloves or any other form of protection, like it was no big deal. But Laura had at least one tattoo. So she had to know what could happen. How could she be so nonchalant about it?

Carmilla reminded herself that not everyone had her particular hangups about tattoos and potential soulmates.

Plus it’s pretty likely that no one else had experienced certain repercussions that could occur when you made deals with ancient supernatural beings.

A Prequel

Trenton, New Jersey, 1776

Carmilla’s just trying to keep her head down and her tavern in one piece through the war, but that all comes crashing down when her brother Will, captain of the Hessian forces stationed in Trenton, drags a tiny angry spitfire of a spy into Carmilla’s tavern who forces Carmilla to make a move.

Here’s our fic for the 2018 Carmilla Big Bang! We’ve started a trend of going back to the first AUs we developed together when the big bang comes around, and it was so cool to finally explore this AU. This particular fic is a prequel to this AU, which we intend to expand on down the line. Thanks for reading, and we hope you enjoy!!

Carmilla has a disease called xeroderma pigmentosum which prevents her from going into the sunlight. To have some sense of normalcy, she takes philosophy courses at Silas. There, on a cold and snowy night she bumps into Laura, and the timer on their wrists goes off. They have the universe on their side. However, Carmilla’s mother will stop everything to make sure nothing is.  

Or, the one where Laura goes on an adventure of a lifetime and Carmilla is thrown into a world of color unlike her own.

Rated M to be safe. Warnings include emotional and physical abuse with Lilita and Carm. Mentions of death and depression. Smut is implied. Don’t worry, no one dies.

It was kind of ironic that everyone was investigating Carmilla for being a vampire, when Laura was one. Sure, the blood in the cereal had been weird, and the whole bat wing charm was… the opposite of charming, but there had to be another explanation. Even Silas couldn’t be that weird.

If you're a writer and your work has multiple chapters is there a set way you need to post? Like do you have to post all at once or can you post the chapters at different times?

Hi! The ideal would be post all the chapters all at once, but there's no problem if you decide to post 2-3 chapters and then do weekly updates
