So basically there are "levels" of colour blindness. If someone is 100% red/green colourblind they see all reds and greens as browns or greys depending on the shade and hue of the colour. It also affects colours consisting of red or green, so for example they might see certain shades of orange as brown as well.

But if someone is not 100% red/green colourbilnd they will be able to see some reds and greens. Also they will be able to recognise that some of the browns/greys are red or green and not get them mixed up. That's because the shades of brown/grey they see red and green as, are different from each other for them.

I don't remember if they comment on how colourblind Finn is but he might be able to see that his backpack is green or he might think it's brown/grey. If he is 100% red/green colourblind and no one has told him it's green he might think it's red (or again just brown/grey). But not because he sees red. Because he can't tell the difference between the bronws/greys he sees that are actually green and the browns/greys that are actually red.

So since Finn is red/green colorblind does that mean he thinks his backpack is red???
