Milestone 3: Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood
The Hollywood version is the newest version of the Love & Hip Hop franchise. This version aired in September of 2014. The main stars were Soulja Boy, Ray J, Hazel-E, Teairra Mari, Omarion, and a few more. Many of the stars on this version of the show had already been in the music industry long before this show started. For example, Omarion and  Lil’ Fizz were members of the boy group B2K in the early 2000s. Teairra Mari was a singer and songwriter before she became victim to her own self destructive habits. Unlike the Atlanta and New York parts this show is more about redemption, instead of finding your way. Many of these characters have already been in the lime light, but are searching for ways to make it back to where they once were. The characters on this show are not immune to the shorter tempers and ridiculous ways to react to small situations. For example, there is a scene where Ray J can be seen pushed his then fiance Princess Love into a pool during a heated argument. Overall, it is very brave of these characters to open up their lives to entertain others and ultimately be judged by them. All three of these shows show a different aspect of individuals trying to make a career out of pursing their dreams and passions. Each is packed with tons of drama and scandal after scandal, but there are some real lessons that can shown when one is living their life in the “fast lane”.

Milestone 2: Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta
Following the continued success of Love & Hip Hop: New York, the brand grew larger by airing the Atlanta version of the show in June of 2012. VH1 was able to find 6 women who were each connected to the music industry in their own way. For example, Joseline Hernandez was a stripper working to make a name for herself in the industry as a rapper. While on the other hand, Mimi Faust was a businesswoman who was the girlfriend of Stevie J for a long time. This version of the show has deep southern roots which can be seen more in characters like Momma Dee, with her wild antics and older way of looking at situations. The short tempers of these stars have led to countless arguments and fights that make little to no sense to a lot of the viewers, but it is entertaining. The show has stayed very consistent with the characters it portrays over these past five years, which can be a bad thing. With the same characters always interacting with one another the show can get boring. It is to the point that pointless storylines are being added for characters in an effort to keep the show “hot”. Many people are aware of the producers desperation to keep the audience interested and shocked, but many of them have reached the point where they laugh at how hard they are trying to make a character interesting. The social media presence has continued to increase over the years, and gifs have added to the fun for participators.

Milestone 1: Love and Hip Hop New York
On March 6, 2011 VH1 introduced the world to the women behind the musicians. The show originally began to show the lives of artists in the hip hop industry. In the first season, four women were the main focus and were supported by multiple other celebrities and family members. When the show first started there were only nine episodes, but throughout the seasons the attention to the show has grown resulting in sixteen episodes for the seventh season. The growth of this show can greatly be attributed to the drama the characters constantly bring to the show. These unique ways to making decisions drew more and more attention to the show, which has led people to talk about it on social media. Some people use the hashtag #lhhny to live tweet about the wild antics and others like @kendallkyndall take to Instagram to post their reactions as the show goes on. Many of these reactions and jokes about the show end up going viral, which adds to the entertainment the show provides. The reunion aspect of the show gives the cast a chance to answer audience questions and also lay everything on the table, but it always ends up messy. Throughout the years this version has progressed to show women trying to make it into the music industry themselves, such as Mariahlynn, Bianca Bonnie, and Cardi B. Cardi B was actually able to use her appearance on the show to make her career a reality. One thing that has remained the same over the years is the amount of drama these stars never fail to bring.
