New solo album! TIME ZERO LAND. A companion piece to Sending Up Flares on Fluff & Gravy Records. 10 new songs! Two of these are band outtakes from the Sending Up Flares sessions and the rest are more acoustic than anything we've released in many years. time zero land is named after the Polaroid Time-Zero Onestep SX-70 Land camera. These songs live in a similar hazy world of dream sequences culled from memories and how they relate to our present moment. The lyrics reflect this time-bending with deep dives into hitchhiking in Ireland, recollections from the front lines of the 90s timber wars in the Pacific Northwest, a song written as part of a 2012 production entitled “We Would Find Landscapes” by Mabou Mines theater company that Neill was the composer for (“Dance On Air”), and an 18th century Irish ballad that comes from the repertoire of master sean-nós singer Joe Heaney/Seosamh Ó hÉanaí of Connemara (“The Rocks of Bawn”). NEW SINGLE! “Stevenson Hotel” Spotify / Apple / Tidal / Bandcamp - an old song never on a record about a Greek immigrant who lived in a Bowery flophouse into the 21st century. It was inspired by a New York Times article by Dan Barry and then the song was used by the NYT in a follow up article/video. Happy to finally give this a wider release.

Hi there and happy Summer! Many shows ahead and more added soon. In addition to these, I’ll be playing side guitar in The Minus 5 in Portland OR on July 30 at Mississippi Studios with Scott McCaughey, Peter Buck, and the gang (also on the bill, The Delines!). Here’s info on the confirmed dates - one big Summer blast with the full band Norway Rats lineup in the Columbia Gorge, two supporting Alejandro Escovedo, followed by headlines in NYC, Boston & Maine

One from the Vault! GREAT AMERICAN MUSIC HALL 1998. A solo acoustic set recorded in San Francisco in this storied theater opening for Jello Biafra. This performance leans hard on a fevered acoustic sound though there are softer moments too. It’s been digitized and mastered from a cassette that sounded surprisingly good with a few charming quirks. Pick it up here on our Bandcamp. Hope you enjoy!

It's a collaboration between Joe Adranga (aka Joey Sadabout) of Junior League and myself (Johnny Sadabout). These are songs that fell outside the purview of our primary projects and we built them over the airwaves. Dreamy, dancey, and lyrics about things we are happy and sadabout.
