CAS Reflection
- What did you enjoy most about CAS?
What I enjoyed about the CAS was that the daily activities I am passionate about can be transferred into a process like CAS. The idea of CAS is very essential since it takes care of our own growth and that of others. My passions like MUNs debating Baseball and Gym, and various creativity activities, helped deepen my interests even more and develop in different spheres that I wouldn’t have done without CAS. It was an exhausting, yet very rewarding process.
- What was your greatest challenge and how did you overcome this?
The whole process of documenting CAS and posting the reflections was difficult, as it involved a lot of critical thinking and creative mindset, however, undoubtedly the most difficult challenge was the organization of the CAS Project - Raszyńska Model United Nations 2023 - RaszMUN23. Being the first team to organize such a large-scale event in my school after a long time, demanded a lot of sacrifice both mentally and physically. It helped me to learn how to be a great team player, as for such projects flawless team chemistry is crucial. Moreover, it has helped me understand that not everything is up to me, and some situations are naturally going to occur and the best thing is to accept them. Crisis management, and overcoming adversities, and pressure were the most important skills that I have learned during the process. Overall, it was a great success and all the sweat and hard work definitely paid off.
- What have you achieved through CAS?
I have achieved the skills of consistency and critical view of the world. Conducting different activities, such as MUNs, organizing TedTalk and showcasing my passion of baseball has helped me to enjoy these things even more and writing reflecting on them was a very satisfactory process. Also, spreading kindness and contributing to the global issues was also an important point in completing the CAS process.
- What abilities and skills did you develop most significantly in CAS?
Time-management, proper self-organization and critical thinking were the skills that I developed most during the CAS process.
- Which learning outcome did you find most easy to achieve? Most difficult to achieve?
Identify your own strengths and areas for growth - was the easiest ones, since I understood what my strengths and weaknesses are and how to develop them and how to grow as a human being.
Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS activities - was the most difficult to achieve as I used to have an issue with proper self-organization and time management, however after some time I learned the process and became more accurate and on-time with everything.

Service 2/2
For the second round of interviews, part of them were conducted in the school, and partly online during the weekend. Again, the applicants presented a high level of knowledge in their selected topics, as well as great debating skills. Again, it was very difficult to evaluate who did the best, as almost every interview was great, therefore the evaluation process will be even more tiring, discussing who to choose to be a chair of the conference, and my job as a PGA is to make sure that the chosen people will be ready for the job and present the highest level of debates.

After setting up the interviews me and Kuba, with the help of the SG, and Sean started conducting the interviews. In the first session, we conducted around ¼ of the all interviews. We conducted them during the breaks, free periods, and tutor’s hours. It was pretty exhausting as we had to make sure that application evaluations were legitimate fair and as professional as possible. There were various interesting interviews and choosing the final chairs for our conference will definitely be a difficult process but we still have to wait to finish conducting all the interviews and start the evaluation process.

Continuing the work with RaszMUN24, one of the responsibilities of the President of the General Assembly is to review the applications of the prospective chairs and set up and conduct interviews. With the help of the Secretary-General, we reviewed over 100 applicants who applied to our conference chose the best ones out of them, and set up the interviews in the Excel table. It was a difficult and tiring process, however, it allowed us to be more organized and to complete everything according to the schedule, which next time when conducting interviews will help drastically.

Continuing the work with the RaszMUN24, we had the first online meeting with the team and the project Supervisor, as we discussed the first steps and established the division of work within the team. We've also fully set up the MyMUN account with the new conference, we decided to opt out of the same design as last year but with a different mission statement. It was a productive and organizationally important session as the team spirit was high and motivated to work.

Today, I attended my last School Parliament session. It was the last year’s term, the last meeting, and the handover of power to successors. It was a very sentimental session since my 3 years in school democracy have come to an end. It was a very inspiring and meaningful time, as contributing directly to the progress of the school and being a part of the democratic process for such a long time was a blessing. I’ve learned a lot and by that, it definitely helped me to deepen my passion in politics and public discussions.

Even though my MUN career has temporarily come to an end, my love and passion still haven’t vanished. To help my fellow colleagues, and younger friends from MYP, together with my dear friend Kuba, we decided to take the difficult and highly responsible role of President of the General Assembly of the RaszMUN24 conference. This role is equal to the Secretary-General, the most important position in the MUN hierarchy, so making this decision was difficult and the effort put into the conference will be much bigger than last year. I’m extremely happy to be able to take on this challenging position and work hard to provide the attendees with the best conference.

Creativity 2/2
For a second creativity strand this month, as a continuation of a trip with my friends, we visited the Moco Museum in Amsterdam, the world-famous modern art museum, with displayed work of artists like Banksy, Basquiat, Murakami, etc. I’ve never really been into art heavily, however, modern art has always been fascinating for me since each artwork and artist has a different meaning behind it and allows the observer to see the art more critically and interpret it differently. The artworks were truly beautiful and we enjoyed our time at the museum, deepening our knowledge of modern art.

At the beginning of winter break, together with a couple of friends went on a little trip to Belgium and the Netherlands and the first stop was the capital city of Belgium, Brussels. Here, we decided to visit the Europarliament and the museum. As I’m highly interested in global politics, due to MUNs and considering connecting it in the future, it was an amazing experience to see the headquarters of such a significant institution. Learning the history, how the EU works, and how it concerns all of us, Europeans, was a magnificent experience.

Activity 2/2
This time in baseball practice, I focused on my approach when hitting. I hit a lot of baseballs and got advice from a coach about my swing. The adjustability I made allowed me to hit the baseballs more accurately and strongly which is essential to gain my spot in the starting lineup and get on base more frequently.

Activity 1/2
After a break due to the large amount of school work, I was finally back full-time at baseball practices. It was difficult because I had a long break, and the temperature was very cold, however since I’ve been practicing in the gym, my body was ready, and the movements and routines that I have done in the past were reminded quickly, and overall it was great session to be back in the routine of practicing.

Activity 2/2
At the end of the year, together with my friend and his family went for a little trip to Jasna in Slovakia for skiing. It was the first skiing trip this year, and it was a great warmup for the longer ski session during the winter break. Although the trip was during the middle of the busiest season, the views were beautiful and the snow was powdery, perfect to ski which allowed me to ski freely, without any disturbances.

Activity 1/2
For this month, I continued getting stronger for the baseball season in the gym, and this time, I focused on explosive movements, such as hurdle jumps banded dumbbell presses, and rapid squats. This allowed me to measure my explosiveness and understand what are my strong and weak points that I need to focus on this off-season.

Creativity 1/2 + 2/2
This time, for the last time during high school I attended a MUN conference. This time I made a trip all the way down to the Gdansk from GDNMUN24. Once again, I was a chair but this time for the Security Council committee which I was a delegate once. The delegate experience in such a complex committee like SC was definitely useful as leading debates on such perplexed topics as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was a challenging leadership task. Still, since my co-chair was my dear friend Janek we had a great atmosphere and got the job done with a great resolution. Overall, the conference was great and it's a shame that it's my last MUN for a while, however, the memories created will be unforgettable.
