The flowers are running over… those words entered their head but it took rattling around for longer than they should have for Cass to actually process that not only was the pot running over, but said pot was covering the drain. They could hear the sink filling like a waterfall into a lake but Aubrey wasn't moving and fuck when she was close like this, it was damn near dizzying. Or maybe that was from how close her kisses had come to their ear moments ago. How were they expected to get anything done, let alone anything remotely productive?

"Sweet words and secrets...Aubrey Carson, if I didn't know any better I'd say you're trying to woo me," They teased, leaning forward to allow their lips to just barely brush once more, "You're doing a good job. Even with the almost pissin' yourself part," Cassidy chuckled pecking her nose before pulling away to turn and shut off the water. Back to the blonde once more, they felt a bit of a tremble work its way through them. Cause yeah, Aubrey was hot. She always had been and god everything out of her mouth always sounded like some flirtation or innuendo or just-- flattering. But it was different now. Different but not all at once. Because she wasn't acting any different aside from the way they-- well, no. That was the same. Ok the way-- nope. Thata was the same too. Kisses. Yes, kissing was new-er. But it was knowing that yeah, she was fucking around but also not. Like all of this attention was really for them and not just...her as a person. It was goosebump inducing really to know she truly was trying to impress them, like they were 'special' or something. That in itself made them chuckle again, draining some of the water from the pot enough to move it and the flowers to the counter before snagging Aubrey's hand again.

"I want to guess. Like real fucking bad, but I can be patient. For you anyway," Cassidy shifted from between her and the counter. They didn't need much now, keys maybe? She took one last look at the sunflowers with a tilt of their head, squeezing her hand lightly, "They really are beautiful. Thank you...they'll be safer here than on a walk? Drive? How are we getting to this surprise?"

“I am being nice, I’m being nice and saying you look sensational and delectable…focus on that bit…” Aubrey grinned as she pulled the other towards her in order to silence them with a kiss, letting her lips linger there for a couple of seconds before pulling back. Sunflowers only slightly squished between the two of them in the process. The use of the word ‘baby’ from Cass sending a electric shock up the blonde’s spine as she shivered, loving the sound of it coming off their lips but even more so when it was directed at her. “Don’t tell me things like that, I’ll be forced to cancel the entire date and instead just show you how much of a good time we can have without even going out.” A small giggle but Aubrey wasn’t actually going to do that. Only because she was hoping that the plan she’d carefully laid out would be enjoyed by her date as much as she hoped when putting it together. 

Instead she just happily followed Cass to the sink as they spoke of how the flowers reminded them of Aubrey, her cheeks heating up how how obnoxiously cute the two of them were being. Not keeping her hands to herself as she wrapped her arms around them from behind, resting her chin against Cass’ shoulder while they filled up the vase. Every so often a gentle kiss pressed against the skin below their ear. “So what I’m hearing is that we’re both just human sunflowers? That’s pretty darn cute. But only one of us here actually knows how to grow them, so I’m pretty sure you win on this occasion.” 

Moving back just enough so they could face each other as the water ran, unable to stop the grin that was still licking across her features. “It’s secret, but I’m pretty sure you’ll like it. And I’m one hundred percent sure you would never in a million years guess what it is even if you tried, which is kinda the point.” Ducking her head to steal another kiss before mumbling. “The flowers are running over…” no move on her part to rectify that because she was far too busy sinking her teeth into her bottom lip as she pulled on it gently, eyes locked with Cass’”

"First goodbye? Where am I going? Out of town? Cali? The states? Or-- uh. Actually let's roll it back. Guess the first goodbye would be to gran or Aubrey, depending on where and what it's for. Illegal or just slightly mischievous reasons? Aubrey. Heavy feelings reasons? Gran. Anything else, probably within seconds of each other, alternating between the two,"

"Depends on what kinda help I need. Art help? Leo. Physical help? Ezra. Emotional...now...that's harder. I know Aubrey would be there for me, she has so many times. But there are some things that I just-- I can't share with her. Or really anyone? So yeah, in those moments I think it'd be Lucky. I've known him since we were kids and yeah, he gets it. We don't even really talk talk about most things. We just get the whole melancholy thing and I dont feel like...guilty after for leaning on him? It's not a burden. I mean it is, but like...something we both have and can share the weight of equally? Does that make any sense? Point is, he gets it and there are just some thing I don't want to put on her that I don't have to...you know?"

"Feelin a little deja vu here. Didn't know people were so interested in Eden and I but I guess if you've seen us working the same event you would be. There's just this-- tension that's palpable. Unfortunately as I said before...pretty sure at some point I was the villain in her story. Maybe I still am. Or maybe it'll move on to someone new now that I'm not at the paper anymore. Only time will tell and yeah maybe it's wishful thinking, but maybe. Just maybe now that that is officially behind us? Maybe we can be friends again. I'd say that depends more on her than it does with me though,"

"Name twin! Well, sortta. Her last name is my first name, which is pretty common now a days. Not the name, but first names as last names and vice versa. But anyways, Emerson is great. She's been one of my closest friends for fucking eons. We're really different, but similar and we just kinda got each other back then. Like to think we still do. "Eden. Ok. Yeah, I can talk about her, it's fine now. I guess? I can't say I ever know where I stand with her and let me be insanely honest here. I liked her. Like...liked her liked her for...jesus. For most of high school? That dumb spin the bottle game in that basement a billion years ago was the start of it and it lasted till my little gay heart realized it wasn't going to happen. Not with the stuff with my dad and the way the lead on the high school paper-- she pitted us against each other. Which, I get, it was probably pretty fucking amusing cause I know-- she could tell. Everyone but O'Connell could, I mean how could she not? But that isn't important. All ancient history and you know, on me for never just-- saying anything, you know?

So yeah, first girl I ever had a crush on and a friend once upon a time. Now not so much. We're catty, in you know-- I consider it playful. Irritating. But playful. Most of the time. Now that I'm not on the paper and she's not dating my best friend, not much of a reason for us to interact. Not that she'd ever want to I guess? Guess she kinda hates me? Maybe she always has. "Ah. That's a hard one. Graduating? Nah, I feel like that's a cop out. So maybe some of the awards I've gotten with my writing? Like...I've done a few short stories and sent them in and they did well. Then there's the paper even though I kinda...I crashed and burned with that. But my heart just wasn't in it in the end. So-- yeah, I guess what I said before? Or like. Art?"

Honestly if Cass were to take more time to think about the things they're most proud of, they'd say the things they built with their hands. More specifically the work they've done on their gran's house and the children's book mockups they made for Theo. there's just a really good feeling that comes from that sortta thing.

"Mack! Another favorite in my Aurora Bay line up. Meeting him through Monty was something I really needed back then. I mean, I'm not going to get sappy.
