Current writing advice I'm seeing on TikTok and Insta is telling authors to stop using em dashes in their work because, "AI uses em dashes so people will think you've used AI."

Y'know, the AI that was trained on the stolen work of real authors?

Anyway, I will not be doing that. What I will be doing, however, is adding a note at the start of all my books that no AI was used in the creation of my work because I, the author, did not go to university for four fucking years to study English literature and linguistics only to be told I can't use proper grammar because someone might think a robot wrote it.

Hi, I only JUST got around to watching the L&K shorts a few days ago. I'm digesting it FULLY now.

What the fuck is Kasper on:

It astounds me how normal Kasper was—not to mention his notes talking about Lampert and generally the positive impact he had on him—and how chill Lampert was when it came to germs. They have a cute friendship, it'd be a shame if something were to happen to them. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) RIGHT.>?/ NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO THEM????/

I didn't notice it before, but I read the comments and... yeah, we never see Kasper's face in either short. One of the comments that mention it speculates it's because Lampert doesn't remember it, which is a pretty good theory. You don't even get to really see a reflection of his face in the monitor the same way Lampert's does. (I found it really odd how he covered his face in the bowling scene after giggling and helping Lampert up especially.)

I also wonder if it's an intentional detail that all of the notes are written at 6:20 AM. I also noticed that the perspective of Kasper's monitors are always skewed or at an irregular angle, while Lampert's is head-on. I wonder if that's because someone found Kasper's notes. This could literally be anyone—Kasper himself looking back, Infected finding this PC with these notes from username "Kasper", Lampert himself??

LAMPERT?????????????:

It's kind of sad how it seemed as if Lampert's worst traits (passiveness and germaphobia being the main ones) got amplified after Infected became... himself. At least, I'm assuming that's what happened, but I guess we'll have to wait and see in the shorts. Kasper already seemed like kind of a messy guy; that was probably made much worse when he actually became infected, or Lampert made an implicit connection between the trait and the infection.

The small touch of seeing Lampert in the reflection of the monitor and when he turns it off is nice. I also like how massively different his typing style is from Kasper's. Lampert writes as if he's writing in a dead man's diary, whereas Kasper almost types like he's writing to a friend (the biggest criminal of this is when he writes "Y'think" in the first short). While Kasper is more aware and reflective of his own feelings, Lampert has a hard time trying to take in what he's trying to feel. You could also interpret this as Kasper being more open to being vulnerable, while Lampert is (understandably) more closed-off and untrusting. Kasper is more emotionally in-tune with himself, whereas Lampert is kind of obviously not.

CONCLUSION AND OTHER STUFF:

Jesus Christ I'm not okay. This has been haunting me at 3 AM (not clickbait also it's literally 3 AM as i'm writing this).

I was actually super ?!?! about Kasper's voice at first because I kind of expected him to sound like what I would imagine Infected to sound like, but his voice grew on me! I really like both the voice actors (RarelyPlayer for Lampert and NotMakos for Infected), raddoob did an amazing job on the animation, and CATJAMMII. WHEN I GET YOU FOR THE EMOTIONAL DAMAGE YOU'RE GIVING ME.

Anyway, I can't wait for more shorts to be released because I've been incredibly normal about them (Lie)
