Notes for those who never watched the movie Titanic (1997):

Rose is the 17 year old English daughter of an extremely wealthy family, who feels trapped by her family and imprisoned in an engagement to an even richer asshole she's been all but sold to for the purposes of her mother maintaining their wealth, which is otherwise in jeopardy.

Jack is an American stereotypical poor artist, happy to go with the flow from place to place with nothing but his sketchbook. He just goes wherever the world takes him and is pretty content with it. He and his buddy win third class tickets onto Titanic in a poker game less than 10 minutes before the ship leaves (docked directly outside where they are). He sees Rose up on the first class deck and becomes instantly enamored.

Cue plot and tragic romance.
