Call to help for Ghost Hunt fans
As we sadly all know the manga had been out of print for many years and collecting the originals is a fun hobby it had become unmanageable for most people’s wallets. In the same vein the final volume was never printed in English. That leads me to a call for uniting the small masses and putting our voices together. Seven Seas entertainment does a monthly survey and my hopes is to have consistent numbers in support for the republication. I’ll try to post the new survey each month on my tumblr and see where this takes us

That’s all thanks love y’all bye <3

Who would your dragon age characters romance if they were the protagonist of the other games? Had a conversation about this recently and I’m curious

We need to do what we can to protect the Internet Archive. Here is a petition that you can sign.
This petition alone might not be enough, but everything we can throw at this counts.

Skip Google for Research
As Google has worked to overtake the internet, its search algorithm has not just gotten worse.  It has been designed to prioritize advertisers and popular pages often times excluding pages and content that better matches your search terms
As a writer in need of information for my stories, I find this unacceptable.  As a proponent of availability of information so the populace can actually educate itself, it is unforgivable.
Below is a concise list of useful research sites compiled by Edward Clark over on Facebook. I was familiar with some, but not all of these.
Google is so powerful that it “hides” other search systems from us. We just don’t know the existence of most of them. Meanwhile, there are still a huge number of excellent searchers in the world who specialize in books, science, other smart information. Keep a list of sites you never heard of.
www.refseek.com - Academic Resource Search. More than a billion sources: encyclopedia, monographies, magazines.
www.worldcat.org - a search for the contents of 20 thousand worldwide libraries. Find out where lies the nearest rare book you need.
https://link.springer.com - access to more than 10 million scientific documents: books, articles, research protocols.
www.bioline.org.br is a library of scientific bioscience journals published in developing countries.
http://repec.org - volunteers from 102 countries have collected almost 4 million publications on economics and related science.
www.science.gov is an American state search engine on 2200+ scientific sites. More than 200 million articles are indexed.
www.pdfdrive.com is the largest website for free download of books in PDF format. Claiming over 225 million names.
www.base-search.net is one of the most powerful researches on academic studies texts. More than 100 million scientific documents, 70% of them are free

"For anyone who doesn't know what a Bacon number is, it is the degrees of separation a person is from the actor Kevin Bacon. Kevin Bacon's number is 0, Someone who has worked with him directly's number is 1. Someone who has worked with that person's number is 2, and so on. (Here is a link to the Wikapedia page on Bacon numbers for more details.)
If you don't know your Bacon number, you can check it on The Oracle of Bacon by putting in the name of the most famous person that you or someone you know have met"

This poll was submitted to us and we simply posted it so people could vote and discuss their opinions on the matter. If you’d like for us to ask the internet a question for you, feel free to drop the poll of your choice in our inbox and we’ll post them anonymously (for more info, please check our pinned post).

Spin the wheel. That's who's trying to kill you.
Spin the wheel again. That’s who’s trying to protect you.
(If you have zero idea about the name you got, spin until you see someone you recognize.)
(Six months ago, I did a version of this poll with about five hundred options on the spinner wheel. For this one, I more than doubled it.)

A lot of people are very critical about datv while upholding other games (important things to be critical about when it comes to datv) but what I don’t ever really see and if anything, what I do see is people making excuses for or finding ways to exalt the writers. It’s the way that they have basically taken every storyline that could’ve been great and made it a terrible racist mess and yes, EA is evil, yes corporate execs are evil but also!!! These white liberal writers wrote some of the most egregiously tone deaf shit throughout four games and nobody ever seems to care to point it out. The writers deserve to be criticized. They wrote racism.

Can I just say it’s so very heartwarming to see people talking about just starting to write or do art or some other creative hobby or talking about picking that hobby back up specifically as a reaction to Veilguard? Like, whatever their specific thoughts on the game are, that’s still incredible to see said so commonly.

veilguard's marketing strategy was so funny because it really did seem to be trying to appeal to people on the assumption that everyone hated dragon age. remember how the author of one of the first major articles about the game was like "yeah i don't like dragon age and also haven't really played it so i'm glad the series is good now"
