You know that feeling of anticipation you get when something let's say a game, tv show, or movie gets announced? And then you get it and it somehow exceeds your every expectation?

I felt it once with Luca and Elio was the second time around. The smile I had on my face almost the entire time I watched this was amazing.

I don't make a habit of watching movies in 3D due to how uncomfortable they are on my face with my glasses but this movie was 110% worth nose pain.

I haven't been this stupidly happy in so long man. I love space, I love animation, mush them together and you get one very happy moviegoer.

I really really truly hate Disney for it's very late and very rushed promotion of this movie, forcing it's fans to pick up the slack and try to get people out there to see this. I also hate the fact that this movie would be so goddamn amazing to see in IMAX!!! Even for one night, this movie deserves the biggest screen possible man.

Anyway get out there and see Elio, it's cute, it's beautiful, it'll probably make you cry, and hopefully it'll bring us more space related animation soon. Also more original movies. Can't forget that one!

alright, whats the deal with elio? the fact that this film is currently in cinemas, and i have seen zero marketing for this film, to the point where i thought it was coming out next year is super suspicious. like, this doesnt read like ‘we dont have any faith in this film so well do bare minimum marketing’ this reads like ‘we actively do not want people to see this film’ to me
so whats disney burying this time? last time they did this it was strange world, which had a queer poc lead, so its pretty self explanatory why they did that, but i cant immediatly spot anything with elio, so whats the deal? is it one big immigration metaphor? is it secretly super queer? why does it feel like disney doesnt want people watching it?
am i just overthinking everything? probably. but its still feels super suspicious that ive seen less about elio than even strange world, a film disney were actively burying.

while it is disappointing that pixar's elio isn't exactly off to a great start at the box office, that doesn't mean it's going to be an automatic flop. it still has the chance to make a comeback just like elemental did. the marketing wasn't very good, yes, but i'm seeing so many people saying they had a great time with the movie, and that makes me really hopeful. we still have a chance to turn things around as long as we keep supporting this film, y'all. elio WILL bounce back from this, so don't give up hope yet, and PLEASE go see the movie regardless if you've already seen it or not. 💗

So.
When Disney made Lilo and Stitch into a live-action adaptation, they split its soul into two parts. One part was turned into the live-action and absorbed money. Power. Attention. A billion dollars from this shell.
The good soul of the movie? The heart? The message? The emotion? The tears you shed?
That became Elio.

was kinda pondering the scene where people started calling in from all around the world to help elio and olga fly through the debris and how it really really got to me emotionally and I think it has to do with the way it just drastically increases the scope of the movie’s message. obviously a huge part of the film is elio realizing he’s not alone on a personal level (he has glordon, olga loves and wants him, etc) but this moment really hammers home that No One Is Alone because there is a whole world of wonderful people out there that you can and will meet if you just let yourself find them. so yeah many tears were cried

I don't usually pay much attention to new Disney movies, but I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed that the main character of Elio is wearing an orthoptic eye patch.

I wore one for years as a kid and was often made fun of for it, and I've never in my life seen them represented in media before. So this is neat.

Guys please please pleas from the very bottom of my heart, I don't think I ask for much, but I BEG of you: if you can, GO AND SEE ELIO IN CINEMAS RIGHT NOW!! (there's no specific spoilers ahead)
Maybe I've just been starved of original animated content for so long, but this movie was so precious and adorable? Like, I genuinely didn't except to find this so cute and heart warming, if you grew up as an autistic child or even as a child who generally had issues fitting in with your peer group, this movie is for you.
I was surprised at how much through out this movie I found myself clutching my chest from how adorable it is, it's silly, it's creative, it's fun, it's fucking ORIGINAL - GO AND SEE IT
AND LORD GRIGON???
Excuse my language ladies and gentlemen, but WOOF~

Go! SEE! ELIO!
Don’t listen to the the stupid reviews! It’s fun! It’s funny! It’s heartfelt and it is MUCH more worthy of your time than any live action remake out right now! Fight for original films! Support stuff made by directors that want to break into the field and make more!

Never have I thought in my lifetime would I see the day the beloved animated tradition would return to us, but my god, it's back for one more round.
Pixar is doing the animated bloopers again.
At least for their upcoming film, Elio. It apparently has some of them attached to the ending credits, and they revealed some of them just earlier today.
